Robert Dunlop- RIP.

Another great rider loses his life practising for the North West 200 in N. Ireland. He was the brother of the late great Joey Dunlop who was killed racing in Estonia in 2000.

I think road racers like these guys are the bravest of the brave, but by heaven its an awful price to pay.

Re: Robert Dunlop- RIP.

what a great shame,i remember when joey died.wasnt it robert who survived his RC45's rear wheel breaking up at the TT at over 100 mph!
you can only cheat death for so long,is it not time to stop racing on road courses and stick to short circuits?

RIP

Re: Robert Dunlop- RIP.

Did you see that Roberts son went out and won the NW 200 three days after his dad was killed there.

Racers from head to toe, all of them.

Re: Robert Dunlop- RIP.

I was almost in tears after watching the interview with Michael after he won the race, so sad but a great tribute to his dad.

Re: Robert Dunlop- RIP.

When I go I want to turn the lights out whilst I'm enjoying myself, not sat in some urine lake unable to get it up while the nurses pander me.

A sad loss to the sport but the race still goes on, great attitude!!!
