F1: Any one thinking of going to the Valencia GP

I checked yesterday the prices for the race in Fuji and it's completely mad. Out of the question altogether

Cost has been one of F1's many problems for a long, long time. In fact, F1 is so anti-spectator, I honestly don't know why people bother with it any more.

you can get a full weekend general entrance ticket at Le Mans for under £50. Compare that to the cost of a GP ticket.

An average club meeting (with far more excitement than a whole season of F1) will set you back less than £20

I went to see the ChampCar meetings at Rockingham a few years back. Fantastic grandstand seats (turn 4 one year, turn 1 the following year) and both events were less than £80 per ticket. Again, far more action, far more excitement, and far more relaxed atmosphere and accessibility to pitlane and drivers and so forth.

F1 is a gigantic money making event, where the racing and entertainment of the fan is secondary to everything else.

Really fancied the idea of a street race around the
port, but the cheapest quoted ticket I've found is €299!!

Even Monaco has the cheap seats up on the grassy knoll
for €73.


Unless I win a competition or find someone who's boat's
tied-up in the Valencia I don't think I'll be attending.
