Re: MotoGP 2008

To be fair to Toseland, I guess we all have such high expectations for him after his great start to the year, but I see where your coming from.

At least next year he will have raced on all the tracks so this should give him more setup time

I'm not a toseland fan but u got to give his due he has out shone edwards & he's been Motogp alot long than james I don't know what it's going to be like next yr with everyone on the same tyres but the tyres with be different to what they are using this year as bridgestone won't be able to keep the same quality a bit like Pirelli in WSB.....

Re: MotoGP 2008

I think edwards has done ok this year, probably just enough to earn his pay (currently 7th i think, toseland out of the top ten)rumour has it that if he gets off to a slow start next year he'll be replaced by Spies from the yamaha factory WSB team.

James, i think will have to win a couple of races next year to either keep his seat or move onto a better bike.perhaps the single tyre rule will be a great leveller

Re: MotoGP 2008

I'm sad to see the back of this season especially as no eurosport coverage next. I have a really bad feeling about BBC1s coverage for next year. Now they also have F1 I'm afraid Moto GP gonna get relegated to the red button regularly

Casey Stoner aware of wrist surgery risks
By Matthew Birt

MotoGP

15 October 2008 10:09

Former world champion Casey Stoner has conceded the imminent surgery on his troublesome left wrist carries an element of risk for his career.

Casey Stoner aware of wrist surgery risks - Motorcycle Sport
The Aussie needs a bone graft to repair serious damage in his left wrist that he first injured way back in 2003.

The problem with the scaphoid bone flared up again earlier this season and Stoner was even threatened with missing the end of the season to undergo crucial surgery.

Stoner, who revealed the operation was ‘career-saving’ before he won his home race at Phillip Island in domination fashion earlier this month, will go under the knife once he has completed a two-day test session on Ducati’s new carbon fibre chassis GP9 machine Stoner is aware that the surgery could impede him in the future.

The operation does carry a risk of permanent damage and Stoner is only too aware of the risks.

“I suppose the risk is if the bone doesn’t want to grow then it is going to die. If the bone dies and we have to take it out then I don’t know if it will be possible to race anymore because the wrist will collapse.

"But I’m quite sure with the doctor we are going with and the advice we have form the other doctors it should be okay. With the scaphoid there is only one end of the scaphoid attached with blood circulation, so if one part dies it starts to break apart and this is what causes lacerations in that area. If I don’t have support there in the braking point it is not possible to race, “said Stoner.

Re: MotoGP 2008

i think this is gonna be the place too watch two wheeled racing next year. What with 2 new manufacturers(BMW and Aprilia) next year and KTM the year after and experienced moto gp stars riding them it'll take some beating.Nakano to WSBK with Aprilia. | MOTOGP News | Crash.Net

even rossi said wsbk will be the place to watch close racing next year

the last moto gp race this year was a real yawn,i think next year i'll be shouting for the 5 brits with a real chance of winning....... and its still on eurosport!
