MELBOURNE, AUSTRALIA - October Meet?

hey guys

been a while since we had an Alfa Meet. unfortunately the last effort was a bit of a disaster due to lack of support - me included unfortunately - but we should catch up again.

i'm away throughout september on holidays overseas, but hopefully we can organise a breakfast/brunch meet in october? i don't have my work roster yet, so can't commit to a date, but hopefully in the 2nd or 3rd weekend of october.

are we up for it?

Yeah S C I'm in. But can't be for me on 6 or 7 Oct as there is a little race called the Bathurst 1000...an annual must watch event like the Australian F1 GP.

cool. we'll work around it.

In a couple of weeks I'll have a chance to look at cars, but only for one week. If I find something then I'd love to join.

I won't have another chance to look until late November/early December though - and a purchase seems more likely then.

@ AGM155: how'd you go with searching for an alfa? what model, any advances?

would be great to have you along - alfa or not. once we settle a date and more details, they'll be posted here. i'm overseas - away from home until very end of Sep, so haven't a chance to move things along, but will do so when i return.

I have missed the first two meets. I will have to make it on this one. Count me in.

shiny_car, I'm looking for a 166 so there isn't much choice with second hand cars. I'm going to look at two over the next two days (black one at IMC and a silver at Peter Wright's used cars).

I'll see if I can still show up once a date is set - I certainly would love to come along.

at this stage, i am free (from work) all 3 remaining weekends of October:
13-14
20-21
27-28

just choose a morning when the weather will be fine and sunny.

in general, i'm thinking meeting up in the morning for brekkie/brunch at around 10~11am.

but i'm thinking Sun 28 as the best option at this stage.

whoops, now i discover i have commitments already this weekend, 27-28 Oct, so this weekend is ruled out for me.

so maybe 13-14 or 20-21 Oct.

If it's a weekend I'd be interested in taking a treck down from NSW... the drive to melbourne from Sydney is beatifull!!! Espcially with alfa handling at the wheel...
