Does the Mvisto have RGB out, or how did you solve the picture signal?

Re: ICS videointerface - Alfa 166

Mvisto has lot of diferent cables for video out, also to Scart RGB so it is perfect solution for ICS video.
BTW look here on this link and you'll see

Macpower / Home / Home Entertainment / Multimedia / Mvisto

Re: ICS videointerface - Alfa 166

Hello.

Thx for the pinout of the ICS!

I took a laptop with broken lcd, installed Geexbox on it, and converted vga to PAL. It works well. (one could also use simple H+V=Csync and powerstrip if the system runs windows, i guess)

A great plus is the built in FTP-server, so I can add/remove music and movies from my computer indoors.

Watching widescreen movies is not great, but i will buy a USB TV-receiver, seeing the tv-news on long drives would be nice.

Regards

Re: ICS videointerface - Alfa 166

No, but controlling geexbox from the ICS panel should not be that hard, on the other hand many remotes are supported.

Right now i have some issues with power on/off from the central locking system with off delay of 15min. And also some issue with the sound levels i think (quality is not terrific).

I hope he isn't using a bluetooth keyboard and mouse whilst steering . If it's running Windows, you'd need an ICS button to activate Ctr-Alt-Del .

I'm not sure, because the homepage is not clear about the outputs and cables. If it only sends TV (pal/ntcs) on the composite cable, you either convert the composite to RGB or the vga to PAL (rate and size), or find a player that outputs RGB scart.

If it did output RGB scart i belive that they would include a such cable.

I don`t think it has RGB Scart, because I looked at lots of this kind a stuff, but found nothing useble.
I know it is half the price of Mvisto, but if you use this Prestigo you will have to gat also a composite to RGB scart or VGA to RGB scart converter.

@dan81
Look one page back.
Pin 5 on green connector connect to ground, to activate TV input.
Stereo - if you have DSP and you can tinker around that.

Sorry, just saw the link that said .hr or something. I don't think it would have been better if I would write in Swedish either Eller förstår ni det här? Nej, tänkte väl det.

Re: ICS videointerface - Alfa 166

I see me and my videos are also poular in Croatia.

I was looking at this: How to convert composite to RGB
but it has a catch it is working on 7,5V. Loolikg for something to work on 5 or 12V or I`ll get another DC/DC adapter, because reversing camera would be something very useful.

Re: ICS videointerface - Alfa 166

I'm thinking of buying one of these

DaneDigital | SO Hard Disk Drives | So Speaky

If I understood correct the YPbPr should be connected to the RGB input on the ICS, or have I misunderstood again

If it is VGA, then no go without converter, see: YPbPr - Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia.

You need RGB and CSync for ICS.

Re: ICS videointerface - Alfa 166

Hi chaps. I'm soon to be a 166 owner (fingers crossed!) and as I've worked as an engineer in the TV industry/electronics for more years than I want to admit to, I might be able to input something to this thread. I've skimmed through it a bit, but it seems that a composite PAL to RGB decoder would be handy for those wanting a reversing camera to work in colour, yes?? Kind of fancy one myself anyway, so I'll see what I can come up with by way of a 12V powered, composite in/rgb out wee black box that can be hidden away somewhere convenient in the car.

Don't hold your breath, but I'll try and be as quick as I can. Assuming I can do this quickly and easily, I could be persuaded to make a few for forum members. I'd aim to do this at cost.

More anon.
