Re: Alfa 166 CD changer emulator, mp3 player -> www.loudlink.eu

yup - it seems to just emulate the CD player...same as sanders & rogiers dongles but with built in SD card mp3 player...

Yes, you just connect the CD changer cables to the Loudlink. If you read back through this thread, you'll find comprehensive details.

This is what we were just discussing and, actually, I think it's much better that all cars have the cables and the options are only fitted if paid for when new. That way, if a later owner wants to upgrade, he/she can do so quite easily. The problem comes when the cables were never installed in the first place...

Re: Alfa 166 CD changer emulator, mp3 player -> www.loudlink.eu

bought one , likely to be far less hassle than a second hand CD changer and i have tons of music on MP3, so makes more sense

Re: Alfa 166 CD changer emulator, mp3 player -> www.loudlink.eu

I have been looking at head units to replace the rubbish system my 156 and whilst this device seems an interesting alternative to a cd changer it does seem a bit overkill- especially as it is only an sd card reader at heart.

There are plenty of other choices that do the much same thing- such as head units with a usb port or Sd card reader on the front. Easier to use and install.

or there are plenty of options that offer connection with an ipod- and that way you can maintain your playlists and navigation is nice and easy.

Re: Alfa 166 CD changer emulator, mp3 player -> www.loudlink.eu

yes, that's fine if you've got a normal head unit to replace in the first place but we're kinda stuck with the ICS! Although i suppose we could do without air con, satnav, phone and remove the ICS and pop in a nice head unit

Naughty naughty Niall, poor chap has only been here 2 mins and getting the p155 taken from him.

Mind you, as the teachers tell you right thru' school, read the question before answering

Only time I am jealous of the 156 is when considering an ICE upgrade

Re: Alfa 166 CD changer emulator, mp3 player -> www.loudlink.eu

Guys! Is there anybody who has got information about lancia lybra cd changer?
As I knew there is only equipped with grundig cd changer.
But these days somebody told me, there are two types of changer in lybra.
ICS in lybra with navigation and gsm is same as 166's one (except desing...). Is that true?

Re: Alfa 166 CD changer emulator, mp3 player -> www.loudlink.eu

think that's maybe right - the non ICS versions had the grundig changer and the posher ones (with ICS) had the becker/alfa changer....

The Lybra was never sold in the UK, so I don't suppose many people there will have seen them, Arnold. I have a brochure somewhere but I doubt it will have that kind of detail. I will take a look this evening, just in case.

fitted the unit a few days ago, works fine ! sound is great !, ICS took a few prod's to realise it had to look for a CD now, but seamless operation

Re: Alfa 166 CD changer emulator, mp3 player -> www.loudlink.eu

The 55 euro gadget is a no brainer for me. I bought a Fujitsu Loox 100 (for £120) with GPS and miniSD slot, to hold the maps and my MP3 files. With the new 4GB miniSD I can have all U.K. and European maps and a few hundred MP3 files on it. A similar deal can be had with this http://www.ebuyer.com/customer/produ...uct_uid=104917

So I get GPS and control of my MP3s all from the same screen, for £120 + 55 euro, hard to beat.

Re: Alfa 166 CD changer emulator, mp3 player -> www.loudlink.eu

that's quite a nifty solution as i guess the directions will but into the music playing, although what happens if you have the radio on? No directions?
