Hi,
as I already posted in another thread, I very recently got my dongle to finally work in my 166. This means that it is possible to connect an ipod (using a suitable cable) to the RCA connectors of the car audio system (that the CDC normally uses). I already received some signals that more people are interested. So I'd like to find out how many people are possibly interested in such a dongle.
I'm thinking of doing 2 versions:
1) Aux-in only. This means that you can connect an external audio source like an ipod or another mp3-player to the audio plugs of the cd-changer. It also means that the cd-changer can no longer be used in your car.
2) Aux-in + ipod control. With this version, you should be able to charge your ipod and control your ipod through the ICS. Again, the cd-changer can no longer be used in your car.
I'm currently working on cleaning up Version 1 (to facilitate "mass-production"

), and starting with the implementation of Version 2, so that's gonna take a little longer.
This is an open-source project, because it is actually based on an open-source project so I have no choice, but I am willing to sell kits (either DIY or pre-assembled) in the very near future. The kit will contain all necessary hardware + instructions how to install the thing in your car. I'm not yet sure about prices, though. Shouldn't be too bad, of course.
