You'll need the Pioneer-to-Alfa adapter loom, and if you've got steering wheel controls, you'll need another adapter lead for that too if your new headunit supports it. Try these guys: 147 Installation Adaptors From Car Audio Direct
Oh, and IIRC, Alfas power wires are different to almost every other car in the world. You'll probably find that if your new stereo has a permanent 12V live and a switched 12V live, you might have to swap them as I did with my Sony HU, otherwise it just kept blowing fuses.

Hi there, I think I may be able to help as I had a similar kind of issue. Basically the guy on this forum called shiny car advised me that the alfas dont offer up a switched power supply to aftermarket stereos. What you will probably need (if you know that the stereo is fully functional, not sure if you bought it new or second hand?) is an adapter to interpret the CANBUS signals from your car stereo connector. The adapter then offers up a switched power supply to your aftermarket head unit. Also most will allow you to use the steering wheel controls to control the aftermarket unit. I have recently bought a KENWOOD unit and had similar problems with power after managing to blow the first adapter that I purchased:

To be honest the guy at Halfords strikes me as a bit poor at his job for not advising you that you need an additional adapter. I just realised Im writing all this whilst kind of assuming that you havent yet purchased one of these adapters? If not, connects2 make them for all kinds of cars. The one I have was bought from dynamic sounds as they do free delivery but you can get them all over really. Halfords will probably be able to order you one but for a ridiculous cost of course . Heres the one I think you need for the 147. Dont forget to purchase the patch lead for your Pioneer too (available addons on the right hand side)!
Connects 2 CTSAR001 - Alfa 147, 156, GT Stalk Steering Wheel Interface Lead
Anyway, hope that helps mate

Sorry but i try to fit in my 147 a new pioneer headunit and i couldnt make it work( I just unplug the original blaupunt and plug on the new pioneer( deh-4300ub ) and it didnt switch on.
^^^ Copied from your post in the Guidelines topic: you simply cannot 'plug and play'. It won't work.
Does your 147 have steering wheel controls (1.6L, so I am unsure)? Is there a wiring schematic sticker on the factory Blaupunkt radio - can you post a photo?
If the car has no ignition wire (I presume it does not; only the 147GTA might have this), then you can use the Connects2 CTSAR003 adaptor. If you have steering wheel controls, then also add the CTLEADPIONEER patch lead between the CTSAR003 and the socket on the back of the 4300UB.

You can make it work with the CTSAR001, but you will need to modify the wiring slightly (as explained in the Guideline topic).
The CTSAR003 is better - it should just plug-in and work. This adaptor can interpret the CANBUS signals to turn the headunit on/off, like an ignition trigger.

Well, you normally place the fascia adaptor to the dash FIRST. Then, you push the metal cage through the adaptor; the cage will hold the adaptor in position. Bend the tabs on the metal cage and both will be held in position to the dash. Then fit the headunit, and it won't go too far.

Ok, so this is my first post and, after about 3 hours of reading every post I can find about SWC's and CTSAR003's, in addition to a dozen trips to and from my car, I'm still baffled.
Sorry to ask Shiny_car but, you seem to be the man in the know and, I can't work it out myself.
So I've got all the relevant adapters. It's a Sony stereo, with the right SWC adapter. I've got the CTSAR003. The car is an 03 147 Lusso, 1.6.
My problem (I think) it that the CTSAR003 doesn't connect to the ignition power in A4 that comes out of my car. As a result, the stereo doesn't come on (but I know the constant power is working).
To fix this I tried connecting the red wire that comes out of my stereo straight into A4 at the car end. This kind of worked, in that the hu came on, but now that everything was connected up, the volume control on my hu stopped working and the SWC's didn't do anything.
So my logic was that maybe there needed to be a cable going from the car (A4) to the little black box, as there is a cable going between the stereo (A7) and the black box.
What do the 3 spare cables going into the black box do? Would it work to connect one of those to the ignition power (A4 of the car)?

Do you have the original headunit? Is there a schematic sticker stuck atop it - if so, can you post a photo of the sticker?
There should be NO wire in position A4 in the 147. The exception that I have seen is in 147GTA's; though the 1.6 may be the same.
The CTSAR003 relies on CANBUS to trigger the CTSAR003 and provide an ignition wire via the red wire from the CTSAR003.
The 3 fly lead wires are not relevant. Was there an instruction pamphlet included?

You might be better off with the CTSAR001 (non-CANBUS) version, but the schematic will be helpful. You can otherwise still use the CTSAR003, but wire the RED wire from the Sony to an alternative 'switched'/ignition powerwire, like the cigarette lighter powerwire.
