Depends on how good you are at fitting these I suppose, not too much of a chore

It's dead easy, fit it yourself, just use Shiny-Car's excellent guide.

The hardest bit is getting a switched power feed from the lighter, but thats easy enough and you'll also need steering wheel adapter control unit (these are only about £25 off ebay) so you can still use the controls from the steering wheel.

I bought the whole lot from Dynamic sounds

Pioneer 4400BT
Double Din Kit for GT 07 onwards
Stalk Adaptor
Areal adaptor

So I've now got a USB adaptor for the original head unit for £20 - £30 if anyone is interested.

I didn't need a switched live on mine, worked without any additional wiring, other than the ISO plugs and steering wheel adaptor

Yeah, I didn't on my old 2002 147, but i don't know if this was because 147's don't need it or if someone had already connected it to the switched live and then put the old stereo back in when they sold it?

Mine all looked legit, no conspicuous wiring, of course might be different on a GT

Show us some pics, I just had to push my cage in and push the tabs down, with the screw in bit at the back of the stereo, it's held in place just fine.

Did it not come with instructions, the connect2 stuff normally does.

GT doesnt have a iginition live so you will need to patch into the ciggy lighter. Which bose adaptor have you got, the one with phono's. The one i got from nexxia was rubbish.

I used the cage that came with the pioneer but it makes the unit stand too far out in front of the dash with this so I've been told to use the connects2 cage ( which has no instructions ).

Ho do I fix the head unit into the cage it does come with fitting brackets (for the locks and keys) but know idea how to fit the bloody thing lol.

Any photos? I'd need to see it, to have an idea of how to fit it.

In general, some cages can be bolted to the headunit, then bolted to the dash. So if it's not a slide-and-lock version, it may be a bolt-in version. Though, I don't know how well this is 'plug and play' (bespoke) for the GT/147 dash; and whether it's just a generic kit (you can probably tell us if it's specifically designed for the GT?).
