Android 2.3.5 upgrade broke Bluetooth

Hi. My HTC Desire S used to work perfectly with B&M. The other day I got an over-the-air upgrade from Android 2.3 to 2.3.5. Since then it doesn't connect properly. When I get into the car both the dash display and the phone report they are connected, but incoming calls don't go to the car audio, outgoing calls disconnect on dialling, and attempts to access the phone book get a "phone book empty" message.

If I go to the phone settings menu and manually disconnect-reconnect, phone book transfer commences and the phone works properly until the next time I get in the car.

I have unpaired and re-paired the phone and car several times to no avail.

I should say that I've never been game to update the B&M software on my 2007 159, so that's obviously something I'm going to try, but I'd be grateful for any other suggestions.

OK, I'll answer my own post to say that the B&M 5.5 upgrade appears to have cured it. A scary process which succeeded on the fourth attempt after I had convinced myself that I had bricked B&M
