Blue&Me not restarting after failed upgrade

I wanted to connect my ipod to my 2008 159 with B&M.
I downloaded the 5.5 upgrade and ended the install by mistake after only 4 minutes. Then I got a flashing odometer and no Blue&Me

I got an ELM327 ODB2 interface, and AlfaOBD to do a Proxy Alignment, but that hasn't worked. I tried a convergence unit restart but it doesn't change anything.
I've also tried a Proxy Alignment with FES with the same result.
Can bus examinations show that B&M is present. AlfaOBD allows the opportunity to connect in (EP) mode, would that make a difference ?

When the key is inserted the B&M logo appears for a short while and the dash appears to boot properly but the B&M controls don't seem to respond.
I have tried another upgrade and a language installation but i can't seem to get the B&M out of it's frozen state.

Having the battery off for 20 mins and shorting + and - battery leads together made no difference.

Should I accept defeat ? can anyone suggest something else ? I had thought of bringing the B&M unit out onto the bench and looking of there were any reset pins or something similar, but then again knowing my luck it will flatten the Windows system too if i do something like that.

With AlfaOBD I have the ability to transmit individual instructions on the CAN bus, does anyone know of any undocumented reset commands i could try ?

Any help gratefully appreciated

Chris

Mito

Hi,

This problem seems the same as mine - but for the Mito. Any luck in getting a fix?
