CD Changer

Hi,

When pressing the on button and src to select the cd changer option, I can't get the changer option to stay. The stereo quickly returns to either the tuner or cd, depending on what was previously in use.

Currently I press the on and src buttons at the same time, holding src until the display appears. CHANGER appears only momentarily.

Can anyone suggest any ideas to get the changer option to remain in place?

Cheers,

Luke

Do you actually have a changer ? If not, obviously, it won't select it.....

Good to see you on AO too. As we discussed on our Oz forums, you'll need to 'jump' the DATA-IN and DATA-OUT terminals.

@ jwq: he has a generic auxiliary adaptor cable plugged into the CD changer socket (and no CD changer)

Ok, further update.

Remembered my wife's cousin is an apprentice electrician. He wired up the bridge to create the short to trick the head unit into believing a changer was connected. It now works, but...

Two things:
1. There is a slight buzzing noise when the changer is in use and the ipod is playing;
2. The power to the head unit goes off after approx 30 secs of the ipod playing.

Any suggestions as to the power and the buzzing? Might it be better to use a different cable to connect the ipod that doesn't draw power from the head unit (ie. mini iso - 3.5mm audio)?

Cheers,

Luke

jwq - I'm now using an official Blaupunkt iPod connector cable.
