iPhone 4S & BlueMe

Hi,

Is there a way for Blue&Me to use the iPhones voice recog (Siri) rather than the built in. I know its possible in others such as parrots but don't know about B&M.

Thanks,
JS

not certain but i would doubt they would be compatible, blue and me is a microsoft product and the i-phone is an apple product, these two have been fighting a war against each other for years and as anybody knows no one wins in a war

If you enable siri it does come through blue and me. However I dont know if anyone else is having this problem but when I plug the USB in (through and without the adapter) it doesn't charge the phone or play music.

Pretty annoying seeing that it does for every other iphone.

Not really.

Standards like USB and Bluetooth are there to enable
easy compatibility between devices.

Well apart from when fruit-themed purveyors of gadgets screw
around with them for their own warped reasons...

Maybe the charger doesn't give out enough supply to charge it effectively, I know my 4 doesn't charge in my car on my alpine and the 4s uses ipad 2 tech, the ipad 2 doesn't like the iphone 4 charger.

My 4S works fine with blue and me I.e it charges and plays music. Not tried Siri though, that might require using the phone while driving

It doesn't matter what lounge you stumble into, your vitriol relating to Apple is there somewhere

I doubt the new iPhone is pulling >2A which is the issue with tablets
and USB. (Asus is the same, standard USB ports/supplies just can't
drive that much load.)

@AV.

Justified. Why did we have to buy a bleedin' adaptor to connect
to a standard implementation of USB that is available in the car!?!

Oh no, but I did get this problem from the iphone to iphone 3G, the original charger didn't work with it and didn't charge from my head unit from then on.

Thought it might have been that issue again.

To be honest who knows.

They do like to change their cable a bit over in Cupertino.

At least they've adopted the new (mobile phone standard) microUSB socket for the iPhone 4S......

Well sort of.

Dug up an old thread, but will Siri work in an Alfa with Blue&Me like this?

I have a 4S and can confirm that Siri works in an Alfa 159 (2007). One small caveat, you have to press the button on the iPhone to start Siri, but she speaks through bluetooth thereafter
