Hmmm Radio with a mind of its own

Hi all, I've recently bought a ***** Spider T Spark with an Alfa branded radio cassette.

Sometimes the radio will not turn on, others it turns off of its own accord and occasionally it turns itself on when no one is in the car - I'm fearful of having a flat battery.

Any thoughts please?

Also what function does the button "A" on bottom left of unit do? It has a red LED adjacent to it.

Many thanks

Ian

Re: Radio with a mond of its own

It sounds possessed!!! seriously though it sounds like there is a loose connection at the back somewhere, not sure why this would cause it to come on when nothing is moving though ... might just be worth pulling it out and having a bit of a fiddle with the cables as a first try ...

... good luck on getting it fixed though

Re: Radio with a mind of its own

hi ian, i wondered what that button does too, found it eventually in the manual.. it should allow you to alter fader/balance bass an trble etc. mine only does balance an fade. got some silly button top right that works some sort of preset equaliser type set up, am contemplating binning it an getting something more up to date.

Changing the unit sounds like a good idea, especially as it's a tape player not CD.

Thanks for the info. though
