connecting sat nav

hi out there, does anyone know if it is possible to remove the cd head unit in my car which comes as standard in my 147 lusso, and connect a connect+ sat nav into it instaed because i saw one on ebay once but did not know if it would work

Yes it's possible, a number of people have done just that....

It is possible but you will also need the aerial & wiring (to pick up the satellites & GSM hone signal), and the fitting cage. Also, the can bus will not detect the connect nav properly and will make the odometer flash and you don't have all the buttons on the steering wheel. The connect nav is also very old and not that good. You would be better off getting a double din sat nav like the Kenwood.

hey thanks i think thats a brilliant idea actually but my cincern is, will my steering controls work with it?

Yes, you can get an adapter for the steering wheel controls

hey yeh thanks i didnt have enuf money to buy the pioneer or the kenwood one so i grabbed one off ebay, i dont think it supports steering control which i am gonna have to get used to, but it have a remote control and sat nav blue tooth and a lot its quite good, and i am thinking of getting a rear view camera too, any1 with any suggestions?

honestly its one of those cheap chinese ones, at a buy it now price they cost £350 but i bidded for it at 5 in the morning and got it for 172 which aint bad at all, theres the link as i aint go the make name

Another slight problem - you will also need a fascia adapter, & by the look of what you bought I doubt they will do one - you may have to adapt one

Alfa Romeo 147 fitting adaptor

mine is a 2001 model, on the site u gave me says 2005 onwards will it still work?
