I was trundling along the M5 at a steady 50mph yesterday, stuck in the road works by Gloucester I think, when I spotted a bright orange beast slowly gaining on me.
It eventually caught up with my wife and myself, so I wound the window down to get some of its aural delights. Unfortunately at 50mph there is nothing to hear! my diesel 159 sounded more impressive. How sad I was feeling.....
Then, as the national speed limit sign appeared, I was egging him to gun it, and he did. Oh my sweet lord. The noise that thing made was not of this world.
He blatted it for 200/300 metres, then dropped to a "sensible" motorway speed.
How I dribbled......
But, it was an odd. The plate suggested it was Italian, even sporting a nice "I" on the rear, but was right hand drive.
The rear exhausts were 4 standard looking slightly rusty round pipes clustered together. In all the press shots they seem be have 2 ovaloid exhausts.
Maybe this was a work in progress car?
Still, looked and sounded like nothing I have seen or heard. Utterly amazing.
Anyone got one I could borrow for a while......
