Heat guns and plastic trim

Some of you may know that I aquired a ford KAK a while back rather cheap to spruce up and sell on for a bit of profit . Let's not mess about here..... it's pretty ****e. However these things seem to make a tidy sum if all is well as new deivers seem to love them. So being an older version with the grey plastic bumpers it was looking a bit faded a tired. Having watched a few vids on using a heat gun to darkena nd bring back the plastic I thought I'd give it a stab. So far I've done three of the bumper panels and it does look a hell of a lot better that's for sure . I see that some people mention that to help it stay black they spray it with something but I can't seem to find out what. Anyone got any recommendations?

If you're planning on selling it on then why do ou care if it stays that colour??? anyway groundnut oil is pretty good at keeping the colour

Have a go with the groundnut oil then, it moisturies the plastic so will prevent it from drying out

Put some back to black on there.

Also a Ford isn't a Ford without Gaffa tape on the bumper.

Its a motoring legend. Any true car enthusiast has to appreciate that! Don't get me wrong, I am no BMW fanboy, can't stand anything they built after the 90's to be honest but they built some interesting and exciting stuff pre 1990 - 3.0 CSL 'Batmobile', 2002 Ti, 635 csi, E12 M535i (joss) to name a few.

Don't starting bringing in 'facts' into this thread ... we all know that Hitler drove BMW's and therefore by Godwin's law that must mean that all BMW's (and by definition there owners) are as evil as hitler
