Yes I am serious. And I think that they do show a difference - but the fact that in both pics the door largely reflects a different surface to the other panels, does detract from the point he is trying to make.

Critically, if you draw your eyes away from the area which shows the reflections, you are left with very small areas which makes the case weaker.

If Hunter gets shots with the same background on both, then the difference will be undeniable, I expect.

The 2nd and 3rd ones probably show it best - definately definately different. Can't believe anyone could even attempt to say otherwise.

From your pictures it appears to me friend, a professional who paints new and repaired vehicles...

Its a different tint.
The metalflake is a different colour
The door has been sprayed from a different angle to the panels left and right of it.

or

The door has been repaired and relacquered without proper preperationa dn the lacquer is no longer clear.

He suggests you inspect with a halogen light around the borders as the colour of the ground reflections may be affecting the picture.

Have you shown these new pics to Mangos? Are they still sceptical?

The one benefit of having to visit the dealership is that you can make an appointment to discuss the matter with the dealer principal at the same time! Keep your cool though Mr. H!!!

I suggest that you come armed with your laptop with these snaps (assuming that you've sent them), and ask Mr Mango if he can't see the difference clearly, and therefore why they insisted that you go to all this trouble.

It seems that they should've stepped in and taken the car back from you straight away to rectify such an error...

Now, does anyone on the list want to own up to being the original owner of this car and can they please explain what happened and why they accepted such a shoddy paint job?

have to say, the difference stands out a mile in the pics, bloody hell, how did the car ever pass the PDI!!!! What are Alfa mechanics up to, how didn't the salesman spot it!!!!

That is a serious difference in colour, looks like they took the door off another car

Without re-reading the whole thread I seem to remember the car was actually 2nd hand rather than ex-Alfa UK. If so can Hunter not contact previous owner and ascertain the previous damage/repair ?

It is but the previous owner probably has nothing to lose by being honest (and if they're not on here they may not know why the question's being asked). On the other hand Mango's have a (financial) vested interest.
