Re: Alfa Romeo 8c Competizione

8c will be produced in max 500 unitis. Also about 15-20 units will be build for special customers that are not in the list and they will have to pay more than 250.000e to purchase one.If the sales will be good then AR will build another 500 units of 8c Spider.8c will go into US before the return of AR.Ralph lauren has already ordered one in black colour. He already owns 1938 Alfa Romeo 8C 2900 Mille Miglia.

Re: Alfa Romeo 8c Competizione

Who will be the first to get a real review? Or when should be the better question, people are posting new threads calling them reviews, but theyre just overview's of the sporatic info given out by Alfa. I want Top Gear to get crazy and put this next to the 599.. No doubt the 599 will outperform, but ill bet the beautiful sculpted curves of the 8c will put the awkward looking 599 to rest.

By the sounds of it, the order book is pretty full if they are already thinking of charging extra for additional cars...

Re: Alfa Romeo 8c Competizione

Right - this is the process for the UK. Head of Alfa UK Marketing will coordinate all ordering with Alfa Italy. Alfa dealers will not be involved except to flag interested parties to Alfa UK initially should people have not done so directly with Alfa UK already. There are now order forms available. Servicing / delivery etc will be done either through Maserati or through Alfa UK at a centralised location.

The price will be Euro 134,000 plus VAT (plus any options which are not yet known but there will be some) so its is looking like about £110,000...gets better...not...30% deposit will be required initially, then a further 30% at some point then balance just before delivery. Personally I think that's utterly ridiculous but it gets better again...delivery will be between end 2007 and end 2009...so you could end up putting down £35k now for something you get in over 3 years time ...not to mention what other Ferraris and Masers there will be around by the end of 2009 (with sensible ordering)!

So that's me out...I think £110k is a little too much anyway for what the car will have...£100k would have been ok, less better! But the ordering process is nuts for a "normal" person. So it looks like this is a car for the super rich only who can afford to put silly deposits down massively in advance of delivery. So that's me out...Which I think is a shame...for me obviously but also for other folks...the dealer I spoke to yesterday said all the people that had tentatively registered an interest had pulled except one.

Re: Alfa Romeo 8c Competizione

The deposit is big but probably keeps the riff raff out but the 2 year delivery window is bllocks ...

Re: Alfa Romeo 8c Competizione

Some big numbers in there. I don't think it's too expensive, though - I mean it's too expensive for me, but I don't think it's too expensive for what it is.

I guess the huge deposit is to discourage speculators, which is fair enough, but I'd not be keen to lay out that sort of money for three years...

I was sort of hoping they might have depreciated a bit by the time my 40th came round (2010) but if they're still delivering them new in 2009 then it looks unlikely.

Re: Alfa Romeo 8c Competizione

The price sounds good, but the deposit demands sound crazy like stated... Although Im sure this car will get all the orders it needs.

Their whole "official" process is very screwy and way too secretive with the 8C, I still havent heard any factory specifications, and youre supposed to give a 60% deposit on a car on looks and 4 silly looking paint chips? What if you dont like the way it looks in black (you'd be mad) and pre-order one that way heh.
