Bianco Auto Developments
22 Reigate Road (A217)
Hookwood
Surrey RH6 0HJ

www.bianco-alfa.com

Recommended to me by two customers, recommended by me because they're knowledgeable, helpful, low priced and all the other good stuff you seem to get from real Alfa enthusiasts.

Re: Independent garage Recommendations

Anyone near the West Midlands might want to try

Aldon Automotive,
Breener Industrial Estate
Station Drive (off Brettell Lane)
West Midlands DY5 3JZ
tel: 01384 572553

They've just serviced my MG and set it up on a rolling road, and they've done a superb job, its running better than it has done in years

I can Highly recommend Powergtv (i know them as powerfiat) on the outskirts of Basildon

www.powergtv.co.uk

Speak to Roger. He is basically a demi-god to the fiat coupe world. He has coupe owners come over from Europe to look after their beloved 4 wheels

He does Alfa's as well. In fact he has now bought a v6 GTV for his own use

if your not sure search powerfiat on www.fccuk.org/forum.

If you call him say Adder (aka martin) says hi

Alfa 147 problem

Hello everybody. I need your advice in something please. Recently I rotated my tires and I saw that the front right tire was a lot more used that the front left tire, anyway, now my car (147) is shaking the steering wheel when I pass 100, 120 km/h, its not every single time but what do you think it can be? alignment? balance? Thank you.

Hi Pmospina,

this isn't the right place for this, you should post this either in the general alfa section or in 146 technical section. This is meant for garage recommendations as the title suggest and you'll get a lot better response posting in the right place.

Cheers

Andy

Re: Independent garage Recommendations

Just thought I'd let you all know about an excellent Alfa specialist I've used. A & M Alfas from Wickham (just north of Fareham, Hampshire). Just had a 72K service on my 2.0 147 included cambelt kit (tensioners, pullies, belt etc), balance belt & tensioner, variator, filters, oil, 2 x transverse rods & lower hub bushes (no spark plugs as these were ok since being done on previous service). Cost me £ 450.00. A lot cheaper than an Alfa franchise dealer, but it now runs like a dream

The workshop is small so he obviously doesn't have the big overheads of a dealer, but he's passionate about his Alfas & does an excellent job.

In case you're thinking this is an advert - I'm not in any way connected with him, but want to make Alfa owners in the area aware of a great independant garage.

Used Perry's in Portsmouth in the past & they wanted an arm & a leg for a service! Ok the receptionist Leanne was drop dead gorgeous & really helpful but I was never confident in what their service department could do for my Bella. Never used Meridian Milano, but their service charges are bound to be dearer than this guy!

Looking at the bill for the 72K service I noticed the labour charge was £ 112 now to me that sounds pretty good bearing in mind that most garages charge around £ 60 per hour.

His address is Unit 7, West Meon Valley Garage, A32 Alton Road, Wickham, Fareham. PO17 5AY & nos are 07855 385104 or 01329 836354

I'll be using him again!

Re: Independent garage Recommendations

I can recommend AforAlfa ( http://www.aforalfa.co.uk/ ) - 01296 415712 or 07745 233472 - he is based in Aylesbury but is mobile and he came to me in High Wycombe.

Paul did my cambelt (etc) and a service last week in the rain on my driveway (fortunately he had a canopy with him!). Very professional, nice manner about him and he did the job for a very good price.

Would recommend.

Re: Independent garage Recommendations

I would just like to add one, I was terribly upset with the main dealer down here in Devon, but was recommended by a friend to try another garage who deals in Alfa's, I can't speak highly enough of this garage for service, price and customer satisfaction.
Anyone in S Devon who hasn't found them should certainly consider them.
Look at their web site

Auto Italiana of Exeter

autoltaliana.co.uk

Roy is the man.

Telephone: 01392 36 13 14

Email: sales@autoitaliana.co.uk

Address:

Auto Italiana
7 Cygnet Units
Heron Road
Sowton Industrial Estate
Exeter
EX2 7LL

Re: Indie Recommendations

Hi everyone,
Good idea!!
Would it be possible to have a kind of list of garages (independant or registered AR dealer) in a special place of the forum? sorted by location and where user coud rate the garage they've used (importantly for all, both positive and negative feed back must be posted).
Like this we would have a general (point of) view about all AR garage/dealer, and how weel they performed!!!

Re: Independent garage Recommendations

Great Idea to reccomend good experiences. I had a cam belt failure and contacted ITAL Autos in Dronfield (Nr Chesterfield). I live in Banbury 78 Miles away. They collected the car, did a fantastic job on the engine (Valves, Variator, Water Pump, End Shells, etc) Cleaned the car beautifully - including wheels and engine bay - and it was ready in five days. The only do ALfa's and Tony the contact, was very easy to deal with. Car runs better than it ever did!!. Highly recomended - and the collection was also fast and courteous.

Re: Independent garage Recommendations

Great idea. For those in the Edinburgh/West Fife area try www.mclennansgarage.co.uk. Based in Loanhead on the south side of Edinburgh, just off the city bypass. Proprietor Stewart and son Stewart Jnr. are very knowledgable on all things Alfa.
