Well Happy GTA cambelt change.

Last week I had my GTA's cambelt, waterpump, tensioner and follower bearings changed by Intaservices of Leicester.
They are a great bunch of really enthusiastic guys and I've had work done there in the past, they gave me a loan 155 (fantastic and brought back some memories) and my car was just being finished as I got there to pick it. I paid my dues and took the car home, she ran great but when I got out to open the garage I heard a knocking noise, lifted the bonnet and it was coming from the cambelt side, bugger! Too late to take it straight back they'd be shut.
Rang them up the next day and they said fetch it in asap and we'll have a listen, so took it back and they stripped of the covers and it was pretty much diagnosed as one of the new bearings knocking,(unusual but not unheard of) a new one was duly ordered and the car straight in the next working day, sadly they were overrunning so the car was there 2 days (i did get a call about 3.30 asking did I mind as they didn't want to rush it and knowing that it was a 5 hour job which they had to fit in unplanned I didn't) It didn't really matter to me as they had again supplied a me with a 155
Upshot of it is I got the car back again perfect and while it was in again I had some powerflex rear hub bushes fitted
The service was exemplary and if only the main dealers could emulate this everyone would be happy, good service isn't difficult, I work in engineering so know that things can go wrong, even with new items but the most important thing is how they are put right and Intaservices pulled out all the stops and genuinely apologised for the inconvenience.
I thoroughly recommend them

Hurrah to my friends and hearty rasberries to mine enemies!

Re: GTA cambelt change.

You're lucky it didn't cause any damage.

Thanks for telling us your good experience, just so we don't all look like moaning sods

Hi GTA Chris,

sounds like a top notch operation and glad they sorted it for you. Easy to overlook good service with so much to moan about

Why don't you add their details to this thread:

I'm hoping it will be made a sticky one for people to reference.

You're right, we all had our fingers crossed the bearing wasn't going to pick up and seize!

And you certainly can't moan about good service

Re: GTA cambelt change.

Intaservives (Don & Dave - & Dave French from Engine Services) are top guys AROC members too Shame they couldn't have matched the Jamie Porter price for the 36k + cambelts on my JTS. By their own admission, they can't come close due to volume buying

Hi Chris

I'm thinking about getting this done in the near future. It sounds like these guys will be my nearest indie with such good references.

Can I be so cheeky as to ask a ball park figure for the cambelt change with water pump? PM me if you like.

Cheers
Paul.
