I got the Alfa wave!!

Followed another red GTA the other week, he pulled into the garage at the last minute, but I couldn't follow him as I had someone right up close behind me, but he did shout nice wheels out the window lol!
Then saw a white GTA yesterday, parked with a bike shop trailer on the back of it, didn;t know you could get a tow bar for them lol!

I wave at a black 147 going through Bere Regis village on wednesday at about 5.30pm. Did`nt wave back thou.

After several weeks of just driving to and from work in the dark (so not much chance of spotting other drivers) , we took the Alfa to Bath over the weekend.

Waved to several other Alfa drivers over the weekend, but only got a response from one . So hello to the driver of the Brunello Red (face-lift) 156 who waved as I went by in Bathampton yesterday .

Just been to Bathampton today on our way to Ikea... tip don't go to Ikea in a 147.. there just ain't enough boot space. Anyway came back a different way through Marlbough/Salisbury.. saw loads of alfa's just outside Salisbury, but a little too dark to wave :-(

No one ever seems to wave back to me. I have begun to feel a bit of a prat whenever i try it.

Probably still try it every once in a while.

I have had some bemused looks, but always wave or flash my lights if another alfa passes. Got a wave back of another 156 the other day

Often get waves off GTV's, Spiders and 145/6's.....as for the 156 and 147 lot...well I guess alot of em don't even know my car's an Alfa

I waved at a 159 yesterday!

He looked a bit puzzled but did give a half hearted response.


It was just near the Manchester main dealers (Caledonia?).

Delighted to see there are still some wavers out there. I used to own a number of Volvo Amazons and waving and light flashing was all the rage. Decided when I got the 156 it was time to start again.
My daily slog between Newark on Trent and S****horpe (A46 and A15) usually gets me two bemused stares and one wave from a red 146.

Yeah I managed a complete wardrobe set in my 145 [nearly left the Mrs at Ikea] wouldn't risk it in my new horsie !!

Took Bertie out on Sunday for the 1st time this year and was so happy I was waving like a mad man at all the alfa's I saw with no response . Managed to lock the rear wheels under heavy braking so pulled over in a layby to check there was not problems with the rear tyres (the car had been stood for nearly 3 months) and whilst I had me head down got tooted at by a passing fiat sequento, I hope it was friendly

I have to agree with you I have had 33's and 155's and they all wave but the newer cars seem to less bothered, I think the ones that dont wave are the plonkers... My wife just looks the other way, and my children ask who was I waving at!!! I will always wave. (I have just bought a 146ti from a this forum picking it up tomorrow and very excited!!)

It is the same in my multipla lots of waves and it os a 80% hit rate on return waves!!!

i think someonw wrote on here before that alfa is quite high on company car lists and opt for it if they cant have a bavarian money waster. hence the lack of friendly waves

I drive a new[ish] Alfa and never get a wave back [dspite other clearly looking at my baby]. Even from the ones I see on a daily basis. You're right it's the Reps with mobiles glued to their ears that don't wave back!

I have a 156 SW, I always wave but have yet to get one back just funny looks.

Got the thumbs up from a guy in a 156 S/W tonight on the M27, I was most shocked.. but hello to you if your on ere.

Picked up my 147 GTA today and haven’t stopped smiling since. So if anyone sees me in the Newbury area or, on the odd occasion that I get off my arse and actually go to work, Farnborough, then feel free to wave.

I’ll be easy to spot, just look out for the Red GTA with the driver grinning like some kind of deranged idiot!! (or if its on the M4, probably looking slightly puzzled while I try and get to grips with the cruise control!)

Congrats on the GTA, the grin doesn't stop you know... i'll keep em peeled for you, as I not to far away.

I used to wave from my GTV6 and get a good response, after reading this I shall wave more often from the 156 – Try and give us better name
