Realised I was in my lads ford fiesta as 2 six footers and luggage don't fit in the GTV

Good Man, not many people come over but when the weather is good its better than the south of France. If your over I have the simplest house to find go to the southern 100 start finish line drive along a bit till you see a slip road just past that ther is a small white cottage by some big gates that's me just knok on the door coffee is always on (or tea)

Re: i got the Alfa wave!!
Driving home from work tonight, A45 Barnes Meadow flyover, me cruisin' in the Meteor GTV V6 when I spot a spoilerless Meteor Twin Spark, pull up alongside, look across and give the lovely young blonde lady a small smile and nod.................NOTHING! NADA, ZIP, not even a mild acknowledgement!
What's the matter with these people!! Maybe she thought I was just some perv!

Probably . Were you drooling at the car or her and how would she know which one it was?
Waved at a GT this afternoon then realised as it drove past that it was one of the managers from our other division at work.
I think we decided that it didn't count if you know the other driver. Even so, he didn't acknowledge my wave .

I was wondering what another GTV was doing on my turf ..... then I realised I don't actually have 'turf' !!
I have only seen about another 3 or 4 GTV/Spiders in Northampton so I was curious to see another Meteor Grey one

Re: i got the Alfa wave!!
Actually the only Alfas I've seen in the last few days have been in carparks, waiting patiently for their owners to return. I now try and park next to other Alfas and say hello to them when I walk past. This is getting silly.........

Re: i got the Alfa wave!!
Saw an SZ the other day and was tempted to wave but since I no longer have the fortune to drive an Alfa, I thought better not.

Re: i got the Alfa wave!!
Not a single Alfa in view today .
Not a single opportunity to look like a pratt so I like to think I just looked cool!

Oh come on......
Blanked three times on my way home from work yesterday, OK so I didn't expect a wave from either of the two 156's but I thought the older chap in the black 75 would be a dead cert - wrong again!

Re: i got the Alfa wave!!
Waved at a lady in a red 156 this afternoon. Fairly sure she thought I was an axe murderer! Suffice to say, no response.

Re: i got the Alfa wave!!
I seem to be having more luck...
Waves given and returned to a GT and then a 156 a few days later on the same road in lil'old Appley Bridge, Lancashire. Unexpected, but excellent!

Personally, I think they should all have their cars confiscated and re-distributed to Alfisti
I drive a '98 156 and I recognise all the other alfa models old and new. I am an Alfa nut even though I drive a newer model. I'm looking at getting a 155, but not til after I finish uni as I cannot afford it. At least not wothout selling the 156 which I don't want to do as I'm increasing the engine performance at the mo and it's gonna be a sweet drive when I'm done.

Waved at two 156s today. Certainly not a sausage from the first, the second one passed too quickly to see.

Re: i got the Alfa wave!!
I've been watching this thread for some time. It seems a bit strange that contact is very seldom made/acknowledged.
K - the time has come to cheat.
I live in Ipswich - I will be going to Tesco's at Copdock at 10.00 tomorrow. I will approach on the A14 from the Felixstowe direction. I will be driving a silver GTV reg S8 GTV and be on the lookout for any other Alfas.
Maybe I won't see anyone but perhaps if we start posting route plans we can keep an eye open for each other?
Paul.
