Re: i got the Alfa wave!!

i'm getting fed up with looking like a tit keep waving and getting no response. My missus says i'm so sad. I did get a sort of wave from a guy in 147 , but i have the feeling he thought it was someone he knew or he just felt he had to wave at "the care in community" bloke.

Come on you fellow midlanders , get waving before i give it up as a bad job or my missus gets my sectioned in the nearest mental home.

Oh dear - the point of my post about generalising was that I was similarly generalising..... it was supposed to be ironic. Sorry for any offence caused by my weak attempt at humour!

Re: i got the Alfa wave!!

i did actually have a Fiat owner come to me whilst i was filling my car up at the garage and he commented on my car , suppose thats nearly as good as a wave , especially as it wasnt an Alfa owner.

Re: i got the Alfa wave!!

Fiat and Alfa are brothers anyway so no reason why a Fiat shouldn't say hi to an Alfa owner.

Re: i got the Alfa wave!!

Despite that, if i'm honest I never wave or flash my lights to an Alfa because they'll never understand that i'm flashing at them because they're driving an Alfa, instead they'll think I know them or i'm warning them about something.

Re: i got the Alfa wave!!

since i decided to flash/wave to 146 and 145 i can’t seem to find any on the road i see them parked all right, but not on the road. did see a beautiful white Giulia Sprint, but didn’t have any time to think about waving (just stare at it ). if this continues like this, i’ll be waving to all 147 and 156. with all the due respect to these two beauties, but they are just so many... and do these 147, 156 owners know that the 146 is an alfa? i might get too frustrated waving at them

YES!!! Some of us do.

The question can also be reciprocated...

Do you "Older-Model" Alfa drivers realise that 147's and 156's (for example) are STILL Alfa's?

Re: i got the Alfa wave!!

Yeh I thought the 156 was more of an older model, yeh it's still 21st century and all but it's not as new as the 159 and the 147.

Fed up thinking Do I? Don't I? will I look a twit? Tomorrow I will wave - in a serious and not half-hearted way - at every Alfa I see.

I'll report back on my success rate. If I score a duck I may never wave again.

So if you see me tomorrow PLEASE wave.

Support a (possibly) dying tradition.

Re: i got the Alfa wave!!

It's not a dying tradition, just more people with Alfas now but aren't big Alfa fans like we all are here on the Alfa Owner forums, can't expect everyone to understand how special Alfas are and that the guy/girl waving at them is a fan of your car and doesn't actually know you.
