I'm not sure this qualifies but here goes anyway: the rather new and stunningly beautiful lady sitting next to the driver of a rather new and stunningly beautiful QuattroPorte gave me a stunningly beautiful smile as I gave right of way on the way to work this morning.

I was in a hurry but I had to take a longer (and a second) look.

Might have been Aubrey, he drives a Red GTA. There's another one about in Worcs though as I've exchanged waves with one a couple of times that wasn't him.

Yeah waves are pretty sparse but I will keep my eye out for you. If you see some nutter driving a ****ty 216 waving at you then you know it's me in the daily shed.

After a very dry spell I've had two waves in quick succession the other day. One guy in a classic Spider responded to my wave, again on the bypass. He looked well chuffed that someone had realised what he was driving. The other was a Brera on the Stratford road who I saw and waved at just as he was passing. I looked in my mirror to see his arm stuck right out of the window .

Pulled up behind a black 147 1.6 with a big twin exhaust at some lights today. I figured he'd taken the time to put a decent exhaust on so must care about the car - pulled alongside him when I could and looked over, giving the driver a thumbs up. We both had our windows down but I was greeted with a blank look that said 'I'm going to stab you' from a Kanye West lookalike

Another wave for me - up to 3 now in about 4 months.

Flashed a silver Brera on the A21 near Green Street Green roundabout - got a very clear wave back. Good man.

It's been a good couple of days for 'Alfa-waves'.

Yesterday:

8am, A1081 between Harpenden and Luton, 159 Tourer
8pm, A5 South of Dunstable, 156 Tourer

Today:

7:30am, B653 between Harpenden and Wheathampstead, Brera

I have never received "the wave" or any form of acknowledgement from fellow Alfa owners in my area (brentwood, essex), and there is a few of us.

Although about a week ago i was coming onto the M25 from the M23 anti clockwise and happened to be joining the M25 infront of a fellow 147. He flashed his lights which i then replied with a few seconds of Hazards for him.

Made my Day!!!

Here in Czech Republic, I got a wave or a flash of lights from every, let´s say, second car. Not bad at all, I even get ones from German, Dutch or Italian alifists

I got a big thumbs up from a chap driving a nice red gtv v6 I think (went past in a blur) if that counts! on the A30 near Okehampton...

Today's road trip was for 440 miles from Brentwood M25, M11, A14, M6, M6 toll, M6 to Haydock and back to Salisbury via M6, M5 and A419 / A346. Complete journey time 7 hrs 15 mins.

Alfas Going: M6 Red "08" 159 on the M6 (turning off onto M42), Pale Blue 156 around the Stoke area, Dark Grey "04" 2.4 156 SW on the Preston By-pass.

Alfas Coming: M6 Grey GT at Jnt 21, and M5 Grey V6 156 (great exhaust note BTW - even heard it at "70 ish" with the windows up) had a convoy for a time from jnt 1 until he disappeared into the distance

Probably a few others but sorry did not notice.

NO waves, flashes etc; but I understand 'cos Motorway driving is getting too serious. Is it me or are people giving the finger to fuel costs? Oh by the way I filed up on Saturday in Southampton and after 670 miles I've still got a range of 130 miles left.

Oh forgot, passed several FIAT Group transporters, one with a White Spider Limited Edition

You gave me a very definite nod as I pulled into the garage, but I was too busy turning left to properly acknowledge you (plus I was giving my mate a lift and he would have laughed at me!) - I did give you a look back and a small nod in return but don't know if you saw

I'm on the A509 (Old Stratford - Castlethorpe) daily - quite often see a red GTV that blanks me so given up on that one, and sometimes a silver gtv in the lanes around Stony Stratford who always gives a good wave

Waved to a guy in a Silver 156 on the M4 west between J11+12 last night but couldn't really see if he waved back.

I gave a good blatant flash and wave to a metallic lime green P1 Spider coming toward me last night, about 18:30 in Shirley, Croydon. Got absolutely nothing in return.

My other half asked why I even bother, then I reminded her of how excited she gets when we get a response.

I got a smile off a girl in a red 147 two days ago in Shrewsbury.

Oh and this morning I let a guy in a nice 145 Cloverleaf reverse out in front of me, he waved in acknolledgment. I'm having that!

I can't for the life of me spell acknolidgment, wtf is the matter with me?!

Hi Chickenboy I'll look out for you but you are on the A508 from Stony to Castlethorpe not the A509 ! I go that way sometimes so watch out for me - I wave and flash at all Alfas - I'm not proud!! Us MK boys gotta stick together.
