I got the Alfa wave!!

Got an "Appreciative" nod from another 147 today.

But got totally blanked by another one, I was alongside him in a queue of traffic approaching a roundabout.

I pulled alongside, he looked... I nodded... Nothing???

Was on my way to the Nottingham mini meet trying to find a nice back road last night in the GTV in Kegworth, waiting to turn right onto Long Lane and a guy in a nice red Alfa (I can't remember which as was totally lost, 147, 159 or even GT??) coming the other way gave me a big flash and let me go before turning right himself. Of course I gave him a big wave of thanks - not sure if this was an Alfa wave moment or just a friendly motorist but it made me smile and gave me hope for the future

P.S. never take this road in a GTV - my undertray kept grounding out at really low speed and any time I decided to press on on a flat bit the surface was so skittish I had to back off. Bad idea all around. Then I had to go through a "puddle". Needless to say it was a lot deeper than I thought was going to be - dramatic splash resulting in very very dirty car...

I am taking to the "ROCK" devils horn back hand salute.

Exchanged flashes with a nice 145 on the old A13 at about 7.30 last night.

Black Brera...outside lane....M20 this morning at 8.30 ish....would have waved but wanted to retain my licence.....catch you later

Black GT in Malow High Street. He sort of waved... ish... I think...

Overtaken on the road between Poole and Bere Regis last night by an exitable 156, gave him the thumbs up, drew a blank.

Also saw a rather nice Brera in Southbourne

Spotted a zender?? kitted red GTV on the hard shoulder of the M3 heading toward the M25 this morning, sadly he had a lexus parked behind him with the blues going.

Someone on here?

I now regularly pass 3 Alfa's on my way to work none of which will wave.

A Red GT in Mapledurham.
A Silver GTV by Reading University.
And a Silver 156 with Red interior on the shinfield Rd.

Hang your heads in Shame.

Any one here drive a silver GTV (female driver, private plate)? Or a dark blue (iirc) GT, both spotted on the A3 early Wednesday morning, heading out of Town. Nod from the GT driver - top man.

Got my 3rd wave today in Uxbridge last Monday evening. I was stuck in the terrible traffic and (probably caused by) the heavy rain... was on the dual carriageway bit just off Vine St and through the traffic on the other side (we were both on the slow lanes on opposite sides of the carriageway) I spotted the front right side of another black GT and as we both edged a little bit closer and were just past each other I saw that the driver was waving rather enthusiastically to me, which I returned as zestily as I could! then the traffic moved between us and we lost site. Still it was great and really made my trip home seem fine despite the horrendous traffic.

If it was anyone on here, then let us know

noone in ireland ever waves back... in fact, they just look at me as if they've never seen someone waving before.....

Exchanged a nod and a smile with a gent in a lovely black 946 spider this morning at the QE2 bridge toll booths.

About 20 mins later I had a load of kids in a minibus staring at the car out the windows.

Is that Peter Noone of Herman's Hermits fame? I didn't know he was an Alfa fan. It's good that he waves though.

Since my last post - I had a black 75 wave at me last friday near Olney and a nod from a 147 today. I travel on the A508 from Milton Keynes to Kettering and back again every weekday so if any of you spot an Alfa Red 159 flashing and waving at you it's probably me - go on wave back I'm friendly, honest and not at all mad (just a little crazy................)

passed a red 147 gta, a blue 156, and a silver soft-top gtv on the same stretch of road today, not even a look...

I have had absolutely none !!!!
I wave at every alfa i see going in either the opposite direction, or same direction, NOT ONE wave back.
I was stuck behind a new grey GT the other day, flashing away and waving, he looked in his rearview, did nothing, apart from look like he thought I was going to kill him !!
I regularly pass several Alfas on my way home from work along the A222/A232 between Croydon and Orpington, and I just get the "look at that mad idiot waving at me" look.
I am beginning to think that this Alfa wave is just a Fairy story told to small kids to get them to buy alfa when they grew up !!

I hear you, I'm determined not to let the 147 side down and look like some dipstick who doesn't know what car he's in, but I just get a blank look everytime. Tried the wave, the flash, the hand of rock and the elderly wicket keepers finger but no response.

A thumbs up to the bloke in the blue S1 GTV.

Who saw me, floored it and then proceeded to get it sideways round the Trowbridge Town Bridge. Glad I wasn't his passenger

Your not alone, nobody ever s@dding waves, I wave at EVERY ALfa I see.....
