Re: i got the Alfa wave!!
Guys and Gals,
Having driven to work today (Manchester Airport), I spotted more Alfa's than I have seen for ages. I waved to all of them and not one reply or acknowledgment.
I think we need to get Alfa involved with this........
.......Why don't we all email Alfa through the Clover Club or mail Alfa in the UK and ask for their support in creating the culture through their web sites and through advertising, they can include dealerships in promoting that group feeling of driving a vehicle that waves a finger (Not a hand) to the mainstream German cars that assume predominence in the style of cars we want to drive.
How about it all you wavers? Let's get Alfa to create the club we all want to belong to.

Re: i got the Alfa wave!!
Living in the cemetery that is Morecambe, there are not many alfas around here (more full of hondas and rover 75's) but I did see a T reg Black gtv last night and got a hearty wave back from both driver and the passenger! Then 200 yards later saw a dark grey 04 gt and got nothing. Must have been a company lease car with a double glazing salesman behind the wheel.

Re: i got the Alfa wave!!
I love this waving culture, it's so cool and makes Alfa owners really proud and feeling even more special among other motorists! I'll wave to other Alfas no matter if I can get a wave back or not.

Totally with you on that one! So much better than being a beemer or an audi!

Re: i got the Alfa wave!!
Other marques may do it too, but, I have never been waved at in a Beemer, Audi, Ford or anything else. Since owning my Alfa its the only time I have had people wave at me when I am not doing something to assist them

Obviously not the guy I followed for 25 miles on the M25 in Kent last week - totally obivious to his surroundings.

You'd get repetitive strain injury waving at every Beemer, Audi or Ford you see

Re: i got the Alfa wave!!
Well, I did 250 miles cross-country today, waved at 15 Alfa's (all moderns) and did not get a solitary wave back. I DID get a wave back from every MG, Triumph, Morgan and Capri I encountered - without exception. Something is wrong...

Re: i got the Alfa wave!!
I get the odd wave from GTV drivers, but more often a knowing nod of " I know what your going through" from all Alfa Drivers as I go to my local Alfa garage

Re: i got the Alfa wave!!
OK, have posted to this thread a few times now! But I was really losing heart even though I see loads of other drivers and no waves - including on my street where there are 2 other Alfa owners... until Friday (when on the way to H R Owen for servicing (yes, it is a new car!) on Fulham Palace Road heading south towards Putney Bridge when I saw a lovely red Brera with a Skyview roof. I waved - he looked a little sheepish, but then smiled and returned the wave and almost looked a little relieved! My first Alfa wave
Now, I was feeling great to have done that, but got my second wave on Sunday - just by Parson's Green. It was another black GT and the driver was super enthusiastic. Got a flash of lights and she had her hand out the window and a proper wave. My wave above the steering wheel was dull in comparison.
I did notice one thing though... both have been in close proximity of the Alfa dealer at Parson's Green... does that mean I need to keep cruising around the green looking for other Alfas?

Sorry to hear that there were so many unsophisticated people when you were there - maybe you should drive closer to Parson's Green - it's not that far from Chelsea.

Re: i got the Alfa wave!!
Got one at last .
I'd almost given up hope after waving/flashing/hazarding at any Alfa for the past 4 months but this afternoon I broke my duck.
On the M25 at about 5.30pm just before J4 pulled alongside a silver 159 57 reg. (I'd been behind him for a few miles) and gave the driver a thumbs up - got a big nod in response.
Anyone here?
Steve
