Is this a good insurance quote

Hi guys, does £445 including legal protection ,no claims protection and wind screen cover, fully comp of course sound alright to you. its about £70 more than my Nissen Almera sxe 136 diesel. oh sorry I have an Alfa Romeo 1.9 JTDM 2006
That price is for paying monthly. It is £386 if I paid in full which I can not afford unless I stop eating for a month

It's a bit hard to say, as insurance depends on your age, driving history, postcode, occupation and car etc etc. Mine is much less than that but I live in the crime free SW, am retired, only drive at 30 mph and was a nun until the sex change.....!

I wouldn't. The APR across the year will gut you next year unless you really stay on the ball (my insurance company took me for 50%APR this year as I had a load on at the time and took the easy route instead of hassling them like I normally do and only realised too late how much they had jacked it up by).

IF and its a big one you have a clear credit card then you'll end up better off just buying the insurance on that year on year (and not using the card again that 'year' until paid off) and then paying more than the monthly that the insurance company were going to charge you. It'll pay off much quicker as the principal amount that the interest is on will be reducing each month, so the interest charge each month will also be going down instead of being fixed across the year.

Yes it'll cost more than £386 but it should still be less than what your insurance broker/company will take you for plus if you want to switch mid year they can't smack you so much with early release clauses for what is in effect a short term fixed rate loan with horrific APR charges.

I think thats what I'll do,Oh and another thing, why does some insurance companies quote £900 plus. I would have thought I would have been a low risk being old and boring

I'm paying less than you've been quoted on my Giulietta QV and I live in Northern Ireland which has the highest average insurance cost in the UK.

Personally, I'd do a bit more shopping around.

Posted elsewhere I think. Not sure where about you live in Lancashire but compared to mine I think you have done OK.
