Cloverleaf - left or right?
Which is the correct side for the stalk on the Alfa Cloverleaf emblem?
GTs have it from the right;
GT QV.jpg
145s have it from the left (all badges the same);
145 QV.jpg
The front wing badges on Mitos and Giuliettas always come from the rear of the car, so both right AND left.
Sprints have it from the left.
Is there even an official side?

The cloverleafs I put on the front wings of my 147 are handed, and I put both stalks towards the back of the car, as I thought this was the right way... http://i5.photobucket.com/albums/y15...y/8d881b61.jpg

I guess if you stick to the origins, it should be to the right...

Definitely to the right. Like 10f1 pointed out, that's how it started!
Having said that, i can't believe i haven't noticed this before!

Should it be to the right, or to the rear - we can't possibly know until we've seen both sides!

Had a quick look, I reckon you are right, even the car behind in the pic has it the other way round...
In conclusion, do what you want with them

The car behind still dresses to the right, but with a bit of a flamboyant flick!

C'mon, every Alfista should know that the stalks face backwards, whichever side of the car they are on. That was the way they were painted on the original 1923 RL in the Targa Florio. So if you want to emulate the original Alfa racers, you need handed signs.
Cheers,
Nigel

Yes... some stickers are only printed one way though, so when you put them on each side, one of them must have the stalk facing the wrong way.
I don't think it matters... these things were originally hand painted on and I've seen cars from the same era with the leaves at the usual 90-degrees (3-6-9-12 o'clock) and also with the leaves at 45 degrees. Sometimes on a triangle and sometimes on a diamond... (see above).
Some of the leaves look "the usual" like shamrocks and some look more like the ace of Clubs. I think the "attitude" of the cloverleaf is more important than how it's sitting...

True, but you can also buy stickers and badges which are handed. No more expensive, just takes a few more clicks on eBay.....

It matters. And I can guarantee that I wander round Alfa meets going "oh dear, wrong stickers" for any car that does not have handed ones. I may be getting a little bit obsessive about this though........

I used to think there was a specific rule but you only have to check out all the official factory cars to realise its random.

Well,
Left for left hand drive and right pointing for RHD
From what I have seen it looks like its random...

What about the badges on the rear of the car?

These are the ones I got from eBay - handed and good quality http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/ALFA-ROMEO...item231a36e7a4
Had to return the big ones in favour of the small ones though as they were huge! Didn't fit too well with my side repeaters - the small ones fit in quite nicely though.

I must now admit that the back of my car now adorns a black cloverleaf (with stalk to the left). Slightly for comedy value with it being a stinky - but fast - diesel.

Nice! I prefer those to mine, which are handed but they have a green border round the edge of the triangle and plain white looks better IMO.
Cheers,
Nigel
