2012 Geneva Motor Show
Anyone going? wish I could!
" The 2012 Geneva Motor Show is fast approaching, so here's a manufacturer-by-manufacturer guide to some of the exciting debuts you can expect at this year's event
Alfa Romeo
Speaking of the Alfa 4C, this is sure to be a highlight of the Alfa Romeo stand again this year. Having debuted at the 2011 Geneva Motor Show, there's a good chance it will appear this time in production ready form.
However, the attention of Alfa fans will also be directed at the long-awaited 159 replacement, predicted to be called the Giulia. Additional talk of an all-new Alfa Spider, a Jeep-based SUV and an even larger saloon mean the cars may finally outshine the traditionally delectable Alfa 'booth babes' this year."
2012 Geneva Motor Show preview - Geneva Motor Show 2012 - MSN Cars UK
Although it is MSN, would be interesting to see if any new concepts appear, could show us what direction the styling is going

Italiaspeed were reporting that the 4c isnt going to be there in any form. Having said that they seem to have a downer on Fiat group at the moment, sticking the boot in whenever possible....

Correct, all Australian sources aim to say the same. No 4C, no 159 and no new variants of Mito and G. Looks rather grim to me.

Jip only the MiTo and G..
And the Touring's reborn Disco Volante.. Looks stunning! Pity its not a car that will be produced in large numbers by Alfa. But rather built by Touring for a select few...

according to press release;
"The 7 cars featured in the exhibition area
The exhibition area unfolds like a winding, dynamic road, the ideal scenario for experiencing the emotion that only Alfa Romeo cars can offer, thanks to their agility, power and safety. Two examples of the Giulietta Exclusive - 2.0 JTDM 170 HP and 1.4 TB MultiAir 170 HP - steal this evocative scene, both equipped with Alfa TCT.
The spotlights are also trained on the flagship of the model: the 235 HP 1750 TBi combined with the exclusive Quadrifoglio Verde trim level. This engine offers a specific torque of 195 Nm/litre (the highest of all petrol engines in the category) and - an excellent quality - the maximum torque of 340 Nm is delivered at just 1,900 rpm. A 120 HP Giulietta Distinctive 1.4 Turbo completes the exhibition.
Together with the four examples of the Giulietta, the public can admire three Alfa Romeo MiTos: the 170 HP 1.4 MultiAir Turbo Quadrifoglio Verde, the new 85 HP 0.9 Turbo TwinAir outfitted with the Distinctive trim level and the innovative 135 HP 1.4 MultiAir with Alfa TCT twin clutch automatic transmission. "
but no 4C...

The MiTo and G are good cars but that's the stand of a brand treading water. I hope the US plans become a reality.....

I was at least expecting a production ready 4C and maybe a one off build of the Disco Volante concept. Come on Alfa!!!

His own reasons. Let's not turn this into another speculation thread on his reasons, there have already been enough of those

Bit amazed you think they would drag out the 4C for another year? They changed the colour last year to try and keep things fresh. The 4C won't hit the showroom until late 2013 to 2014 as with the replacement 159. So why show case it for 2012?
It is very poor I agree, and does appear to be at the bottom of the pecking order. But then again how many fans of Lancia could say the same in Europe? I guess there is more money to make in the cheaper cars, and the tie up's with Lancia and Chrysler.
Alfa is missing it's sporty coupé from the range, to carry on from the GTV, GT and Brera, and in my view loosing a lot of sales because of it.
Live in Berkshire, Dorset, Hampshire, Isle of Wight, Oxfordshire or Wiltshire?

The range is embarrassing
The cars themselves are good but too old hat for a major event like a motorshow, Geneva or otherwise
Seven variants of two cars from a sporting marque like Alfa makes me

Very sad stand indeed! Last year they had the world abuzz with the 4C! This year nothing new..
Except Sergio saying the Giulia will be built in the USA. Looks pretty bleek for Alfa. One would think that a company in as much ***** as they are would be bring out models left right and centre to boost sales...
If Alfa doesnt introduce a few new models soon I suspect its the end of the brand (well at least in the hands of FIAT)

It does indeed look a bit bleak for the company at the moment, there's lots of talk about new models and re-entering markets such as the US, but there seems to be no action whatsoever. All we seem to hear is delay after delay!
Note that Volkswagen (or at least the boss) have shown interest in purchasing Alfa a few times now...i feel that the next few years will be hugely important towards Alfa's long-term future. Watch this space
