Certificate of Conformity

Hey guys,

So, im about to enter the process of registering my bella in Germany (she's on UK plates right now).
I've done this many times before, but always with the MoD taking care of things for me.

Anyways, the authorities here want a COC. Would i have one of these already - i don't believe i do. So, where can i get one from? AR UK? A UK stealer?

thanks!

I have done this in France a couple of times. Modern cars generally have COC somewhere in the literature received when new, otherwise you have to write to Alfa either in the UK or Germany to get one. Pretty certain a dealer won't be able to help

When I imported my 156 from Belgium to the UK I had to get one from Italy. I had to get another one because on the first they had written LHD (in Italian) in error.

IIRC it was free because it was a new car. You might have to pay for older cars.

Thanks for the replies. I'll have a check through what documentation i have. Failing that i'll have to contact AR.

Ive just checked my GTA manual. It has a "Declaration of conformity" certificate in the back of it, BUT I it is for the radio and electrical equipement. Not sure this is the one you want?

I'm not sure either - is it in the radio manual (silly question i know) or in the cars manual?
I've seen these docs before for other cars, and it covers the engine and stuff like spoilers and wheels etc.
I remember once having a renault megane that had boot spoiler on it and i couldnt register it here without a coc for the spoiler!
I really must get my backside in gear, go for a walk, get my car and have a look huh! Lazy git that i am!
Thanks for your reply PR

This should concentrate your mind, I am 99% certain that you'll have to pay around £100 to get one if there isn't one in your paperwork! NOW you'll be looking with more urgency

No you definitely don't have one with your paperwork. I remember the one for my 156 was two sheets of A4 (A3), very formal looking, and it described everything on the car.

Just got off the phone to ARUK. Spoke to a very helpful chap too!
I need to email them a copy of page 2 of my V5, and I should have a CoC here in Germany within a week, free of charge!!!

Germany take note - that is how you do customer service!!

That really is excellent news

Porsche and Ford both demanded money off me for a COC

We used to issue CoCs at a manufacturing company I worked at and we'd often have to issue new copies for O&Ms (Operation & Maintenance Manuals). We'd just have an electronic copy on the computer and could either email or print it.
