AC valve replacement?

I've found my GTVs AC leak. The filling valve leaks. Is there any way to repair or replace these valves?

Thanks

Andy

Re: AC valve replacement?

If it's only the valve, you're in luck, just a few quid, they can do that when you get the system serviced.

If your A/C system has been open to atmosphere for a while, though, you will really need to replace the receiver/dryer.

This is filled with a dessicant to remove any moisture from the refrigerant. Once the atmosphere has got to it, however, it will need replacing, adds another £40-60 to your bill...

Re: AC valve replacement?

Fair enough, It is going back to Kwik Fit who filled it last time tomorrow, they said they will try and refit the valve thingy. Is this a hard job? Do the AC valve use the same inserts that I used to use to re-core shraeder bike tyre valves?

Wouldn't have thought it was too difficult! But I think they are different from the bicycle ones...
