I find most things service related in the UK are pretty dire, so I'm real happy to report that there is a service for 147/156 owners on ebay that certainly for me was truly remarkable, with my recent purchase of the minty sportwagon came a key which was truly in bits, so much so that i actually found the printed circuit in the dirty ashtray and the remainder of the key was held together with cellotape.
I got in touch with
Chris via his ebay link, he turned my bits around at a reasonable cost, ok i did supply a donor key which i procured on ebay, even so I now have a fully functioning key, central locking, boot and alarm now all work.
One of the emails that came my way whilst the job was in progress, the total turn around was 3 days.
Hi Rodger,
I have repaired your circuit board and transferred the board, blade and immobiliser to the new case.
It was a real job - you had missing miniature circuit components and all sorts of problems with the board. It took quite a while to fix!
I have had to fit a different tyre of main switch because of damage to the board. This switch does not click but is much better suited to the angle at which I have had to fit it.
I have sealed all of the work I have done in resin to ensure it is robust so you shouldn't have any problems in the future, but please don't be too rough with it just to be sure.
I will have the key back in the post to you tomorrow.
Best regards
Chris
