Caledonia/Warrington Motors....

Does anyone have any experience with the servicing/warranty work at the above garage.

They don't sell Alfas but they service them, I understand.

I took my GT for a bulb change and the service was spot on but was just wondering if anyone had any information.

I have a snag list for my 159 SW and don't want to travel to Mangoletsi if I can help it as its a bit of a hike and this garage is on my doorstep.

I have no experience of them myself but they lost their franchise during the cull of dealers who were not up to standard.

Read into that what you will.

Re: Caledonia/Warrington Motors....

I'm not sure what the story is here. What was the Alfa bit of the Warrington Caledonia has well and truly closed now, but maybe the Fiat garage nearby does Alfa servicing instead? Would be interested if anyone knows the answer.

If it doesn't, the choice (if you can call it that) locally would be Caledonia in Manchester or Mangoletsi.

I've had mediocre experiences with both so tend to pick Mangos for the nice drive there and a look at the Alfas in the showroom

Coop, i've slated Mangoletsi today, BUT it was due to a specific salesman rather than the garage/service department itself. The work I had done was perfectly fine and prompt.

Do yourself a favour, and avoid Caledonia like the plague. The worst service (mechanical & personal) i have come across in 25 years of motoring.

Unhelpful and incompetent. As stated above, there was a reason they lost their franchise.

(P.S. I am about 3 miles from Caledonia, yet drove past them 20 miles away on a Saturday morning to Mangos, rather than use them)

I used to use them in Preston - they were bloody awful.

caledonia manchester have gone bump altogether. only ever used them for one small warranty job and they weren't great. i popped in a couple of times just to buy some oil etc and the people on the parts desk were shocking, really bad attitude on them. i'm glad they're gone.

Re: Caledonia/Warrington Motors....

Thanks for your replies.

I have bit the bullet and gone back to Mangos.

My car is booked in for a list of niggles to be sorted....hopefully.... next Tuesday.

Have been promised a 147 of a Fiat 500.....yippee!

Have used Mangos for servicing for years and have even bought my first two cars from them. Suppose I should stick with who I know...

Re: Caledonia/Warrington Motors....

mango's have recently upped their game on the courtesy cars - i always used to get a bog standard punto but the last 3 have been 147's - decent spec as well (last 2 have been a ti and a sport )

it's amazing the power of a couple of AO window stickers

The whole Caledonia Group went into receivership in Jan of this year, some of the dealerships got bought out by local firms; Caledonia Fiat Warrington became Warrington Motors, Caledonia Fiat Blackpool was bought by Chorley Nissan next door, but some just closed down like Caledonia Alfa Warrington etc. unfortunately a lot of the Alfa garages were not as profitable and not as many got bought.
