Thumbs Up RideDrive - Advanced Handling skills & Road driving experience

I'm doing this on Friday:

Ride Drive, High Performance Course, Advanced Driving, Car Handling, S03PM

Basically a couple of hours on a track / unused airfiled, then the rest of the day on the roads, learning good habits to get the most out of my car under the guidance of a police trainer (all day in the passenger seat).

Anyone done this? Apparently it changes the way you drive dramatically. I'll post here of my thoughts net week, but with 25% off your car insurance renewal quote with Adrian Flux, and my car cost the earth to insure, I can go on the day training and still save money!!!

Oh yeah! Your car must have cost a fortune to insure! How's she running?

Wow - what an amazing day... 260 miles later, I have (a) realised what my car is capable of, and (b) now know how to use the road in both a safer but (if necessary) more aggressive manner.

Full report to follow...

Just looked at the site, seems a bit pricey, is it worth it?

Driver training in general

Err .. it's the biggest and most cost effective performance and potentially saftey upgrade you will ever give your car.. and you take it with you to every car you drive.

I've been banging on at this for a while - remaps, LSD's induction kits, better brakes are all good things, but driver training can show you how to use what you have to it's maximum rather than use half of what you upgrade, and htne loose both physically and financially when you change your car...

These guys as posted above were good...

Do these recommendations apply to all regions? Not that there are any in Cornwall anyway, but the Devon one isn't too far.

Absolutely!

You'll probably find you'll save on your fuel bill too as you'll vastly improve your observation and anticipation skills, making you a smoother (yet probably quicker) driver.

Win-win all round.
