Re: 6 feet tall on GTV

I'm 6. 1 and sit comfortably in my GTV. It does seem that the seat has a slight offset to it though but I don't think it has, just feels that way. Seat fully back and perhaps the arm stretch required is just a tad too much.

Not great for support just above the knee joint but have had worse.

Re: 6 feet tall on GTV

I am 6 foot tall and I fitted in my GTV ok. If the car has a sunroof though it will reduce the headroom quite a bit.

What he said I am 6 foot and my GTV was fine but I test drove one with a sunroof and was shocked at how much less headroom there was!

Re: 6 feet tall on GTV

I'm 6'3" and fit quite comfortably. Can just fit my hand between the back rest and the rear seat, but passengers are actively discouraged.

It also helps that I have simian arms flailing about so can reach the wheel with no issues either.

Same here. In fact I reckon the GTV has been my most comfortable car I have owned as yet. it didn't have the leather seats so was very warm and snug too!!

Re: 6 feet tall on GTV

I'm 5'11" and the GTV is quite comfy, no problems. I've the seat quite far back, there's about an inch between the back of my seat and the front of the rear, so no passengers behind the driver but otherwise fine.

There is a slight offset, but I think that's an Italian car thing, not just Alfas. Italians must have one leg shorter than the other.

Re: 6 feet tall on GTV

I'm 6ft and weigh in at over 16 stone. No major issues height wise ... even with a sunroof. Sure I would sit in the seat better after loosing a few lbs, rather than the sitting on the seat feeling I get at the moment!! Me girl being 5'9'' loves the amount of room she gets on the passenger side as well. These comments are based on the fact we rarely have passengers so both have the seats pretty much right back.

Re: 6 feet tall on GTV

I think the crucial thing is the length of your torso, I am 6ft and longer in the body than leg, and found the roof line too low in a GTV, it felt like I was looking out from inside a post box, not sure if it had a sunroof though. My 145 is marginal too, even without a sunroof.

Odd really as I thought the Italian ape was shorter legs and long arms.
I would love a cheap GTV, but between bent over fixing it and hunched up driving it my spine would become jelly.

Re: 6 feet tall on GTV

I'm 6'2" and don't have a problem in mine without a sunroof. Agreed that you do see a lot of the inside of the roof before you get to the windscreen but it's something you get used to and I don't mind at all now. Did my first long run (c 220miles) this weekend and actually found it to be very comfortable and great for motorway mile munching

Re: 6 feet tall on GTV

well, from what you say here it looks like i'll be pretty comfortable in a gtv. i consider my self a normal 6 feet guy (nothing against people with legs shorter than body ). i really don't care about the people that may go in the rear seats. if they don't enjoy the ride i might ask them to leave or just cut them to pieces and put them in the boot

some i got to tell you. for how much i love my 146, i have to admit it was not made for people 6 feet tall or more. i hate to say this, but i feel more comfortable in a vw polo than in my 146. i bet is the same with 147 and 156 i’ve seated in a 156 and I didn’t feel 100% that’s a bad point my old crashed opel kadett didn’t have.

and now a weird story:
i tried to convince a guy who was selling a gtv to just let me seat on it. first he agreed, than days later he told me the car was promised to some guy, and he would feel bad if he let a stranger seat on a car that would be belonging to another person. there was my rare chance to try the gtv seats.

enough
i think i got pretty much the information i wanted. thanks to you all!

Re: 6 feet tall on GTV

its weird as there is more headroom in my daughters Bravo with a sunroof than the 145 without, yet they are the same car underneath. If I had to drive the 145 as my car I would swap the seat mechanisms over , but as it fits mrs purple perfectly as is, I have left it alone.

Re: 6 feet tall on GTV

I'm slightly over 6 foot and fit in just fine. I'm no slim Jim either at just over 14 stone, but I actually find the car quite roomy.

The seat does need to be pretty far back though, meaning that rear passesngers are a no go area. But who'd buy a GTV if they had more then 1 friend anyway?

6'2", 15 stone-ish, 2001 Spider. Not the most comfortable driving position but not the worst either. Did 450odd miles a week ago on Sunday and I could still walk when I got home

Re: 6 feet tall on GTV

I'm 6'6". I'm not entirely sure how I fit in mine, I'm certainly not that dainty getting in and out! I have to wear particular shoes to drive in though as well and it's a fair old lean forward for high mounted traffic lights!!!
