Well Happy T cut glass polish

Hi All,
Has anyone tried T cut glass polish yet? And what did you think of it?

I saw some in the shop today and it is supposed to remove light scratches from glass.

CarPlan Car Care - CarPlan T-Cut Glass Polish

I have used Autoglym glass polish in the past, and although it cleaned the glass well it did nothing for the scratches.

I have a few light scratches on my screen from where the wipers have travelled over it.

Many Thanks,
Simon.

Re: T cut glass polish

It would take a lot more than polish to remove even light scratches from glass.

Re: T cut glass polish

I'd be tempted to break the screen and claim from my insurance.

That would have been an option, but my insurance won't cover me for the screen.

I suppose if the polish had something harder than glass such as silicon carbide in it, it might work.

Re: T cut glass polish

The only way to remove scratches from glass is with a cutting compund suitable for glass, a lot of water, and a tool spinning at between 7000 and 10000rpm.

Re: T cut glass polish

I thought about using 3M lapping films. We used to use them to polish the ends on optical fibres.

Re: T cut glass polish

Not sure it would do the job still Simon. Even with 700rpm I still remember it being a real PITA to get scratches out.

Re: T cut glass polish

You are probaby right mate,
Its not a big problem on my car, more of an annoyance. The scratches are on the edge of the wiper arc, so not in the direct field of view.
How is your 156 going anyway?

Re: T cut glass polish

Thats alright then, brakes can sometimes be useful. I was expecting my Coupe to fail its MOT on its rear brakes, but amazingly it passed.

I was thinking of going to meet up with Darren to check out his GTV sometime, have you seen it yet? I take it is going ok, as he hasn't posted on here saying he has problems.
