I'm not "on a high horse". The public road isn't made for racing on, and shouldn't be used as such, 100% fact. That you use a track should make you even more aware of this and therefore save your testosterone for your track visits.

End of statement.

I don't see where I said I was racing anyway, I was following, at a brisk pace

Good. I wasn't ready to go to my friend's funeral but I'll deal with it.

Re: Girlfriend Intervention

See what girlfriends/wife's do?! This is a prime example - they annoy us in our cars and even when they are not around they still manage to cause a rift between our fellow friends on this site! Ghostydog and Chrisrich you both make me laugh - I suggest you both laugh about it too. ......lol.....

I am, this thread was posted in jest more than anything and I believe my initial post was 'tongue in cheek' enough to portray this.

Maybe not...

Re: Girlfriend Intervention

GD at least you seem to have consistency. My GF is hot and cold, we'll get overtaken by an idiot and I'll drop it a couple of gears but she'll say leave it. However sometimes, if it's a plonker in a mobile branch of Halfords she'll say "What a pr*ck, go and get him". Problem is, there's no real rules, and I never know what her reaction is going to be

Sometimes she complains about me driving like a nutter, but I'm not I simply keep the car in low gears to hear the glorious engine. Thing is, she drives her little Micra like a go-kart. I might have to get her a sportier car then she'll appreciate the driving.

Re: Girlfriend Intervention

I feel the urge to stick up the Girlfriends, but i can't

Im exactly the same, i don't like him driving to fast at high revs or doing the "i am man see me roar" in the GT

But on the other hand if i'm driving, i do exactly the same as he does

Re: Girlfriend Intervention

I am hoping to get into an Alfa GT soon, but currently have a Scooby WRX Sti.

I can add some credance to your mates, "boasts" of around 400 bhp.

I've seen some aftermarket mods which boost normall 270 Sti's up to around 400bhp, and after driving a STi myself for about a year, I can say, irrespective of what you were driving, the chances are mate, you would have been chasing shadows . What draws me to the Alfa is not the performance (although it ain't a bad thing ), but the looks and styling

One of the other members also hit the nail on the head when he said off the start you'd be watching him go, but top end Scooby's don't pull that much, they are all about srpint.

Better part of valour on your behalf anyway, not worth writing off your pride and joy into an oncoming 18 wheel juggernaut or making the missus while you chuck around the bends.
