Chavs. It's green for a reason (that's the colour of clover) and there's a reason why it's only on certain Alfa's.

Here is a blue one.

Thats not true, the 145 cloverleafs were all (supposed to be) green. Some badges quickly faded to blue, hence the myth of the blue cloverleafs. Some Alfas had gold cloverleafs (the 90 I belive) but I don't know of any with a red clover.
Bottom line is, green all the way

Re: Is there any significance in a Red Clover Leaf?

I bought a red one with the intention of putting it on the rear of my minty green sportwagon, good quality badge but i'm not so sure it will ever make it onto my alfa, for the cost though a nice to have. I think inclucing postage mine came in under a fiver.

Isn't the CL only significant on certain models - i.e. the QVs?

Re: Is there any significance in a Red Clover Leaf?

There was also an Alfasud Gold Cloverleaf, and a 33 Gold cloverleaf.
Also, don't forget, the 145 was just "Cloverleaf" a colour was not specified. I must admit, the fading badges is a great story, no idea if true or not TBH although I'm sure I saw one with blue badges from new

The thing is Mitch, no one on here KNOWS that there weren't blue badges. They have a theory, same as anyone else, but some people portray it as fact, some are happy to listen top the possibilities.

The chances are that blue badges are due to fading. But there's some evidence to suggest not, and I've never seen any conclusive proof that they are.

As bazza says I too have only ever heard of the green and gold variety but that doesn't mean there aren't or ever have been blue.

In regards to the original Post I reckon that the green looks best and as it has a known and proven relevance I would go for that.

I know someone that has had a 145 from brand new, its always and i mean always garaged, very very rarely left out in the sun and his cloverleafs are blue and he says they have been since the day he bought it, they dont look faded in any way, they all look pristine, so I am going with the blue from new theory

Quote from a site about alfa history

Some modern Alfas wear a cloverleaf badge which is typically a green four leaf clover on a white background, but variants of blue on white have been recently observed

Re: Is there any significance in a Red Clover Leaf?

there are hundreds of sites saying god exists, and many suggesting the world will end soon. i dont see any of us hiding in a church repenting our sins and preparing for judgement.
