Re: The little devil on your shoulder!

Had a Kia Cee'd try to race me today. It was the so-called sport version.

He lost, badly...

Re: The little devil on your shoulder!

It's interesting, pretty much no one challenges the Brera to Traffic Light Grand Prix. I think this is because it looks scary and fast. It's not shockingly fast though I suppose it would beat 90% of the stuff on the road. Something similar happens on the motorway - people tend to pull in a lane and let it through. This did NOT happen in the GTV, which people used to constantly sit in front of in the overtaking lane

Re: The little devil on your shoulder!

My Spid isn't the fastest car on the road but s'pose when hoods down it gives people reason the race me at lights, s'pose they want to prove something or assume i'm a poser (i actually am a bit) anyway i tend join in with the revving, keep looking over watch them get all tetchy knowing they are waiting to put the hammer down...............then when the lights change..................i just pull away very slowly as they screem off looking like d1cks.......

i once did this no word of a lie as i was driving along once, a plastic chav mobile instigated a 'race' with me and i knew where there was a speed camera comming up so i nailed it up untill the camera then i slowed down to 25 mph, he goes through 30 mph camera at prob 60 odd mph............... ha ha 60 quid down now chav and 3 points..... to be fair he prob didn't have a license....

Re: The little devil on your shoulder!

Totally agree with Passat drivers, and Audi A4 / A3's... I love it when a 1.9 pulls up and they think they have you. I know the 150 bhp versions could put up a good fight but the 130 models and below (which are much more common) are useless compared to Alfa might I do try to keep calm though and not let these idiots wind me up too much!

Never been involved with a BMW 120D - on paper they should beat my 147 16v jtd, you reckon this is true on the road?

Nice one with the 166 stand-off by the way!

S**T corner is gonna get you!

I get that all the time in my 166....people pull along side, smirking....all until the amber light shines (and obvisouly i have checked the road ahead is clear first )

because they have crap cars. Sounds like a put down but I think 90% of the time its true. Some are just looking for sport I suppose.

...and mine. I remember my father burning up an MGB GT in my mothers Giulia 1300ti, not only on the straights but round corners as well. I can still remember the MG drivers face now he owned a local garage which we used to fill up. That was back in 1968!

I don't know about the JTD 16V but I toyed with a 120D as he was being a bit of a show off. When I finally slowed down enough to let him past he wasn't looking too happy
