Just went upto 6000 rpm for the first time ever!
Coming back from university with a slightly bad mood as i had to stay longer than usual, i surprisingly found the road clear and decided to just let all my frustration out
pressed the accelerator like i've never pressed it before and WOW! what a great sound reaching 6000 rpm for the first time ever!! today i found out what Alfas are all about. Such a great experience and this is just a 2.0 4cylinder i felt like kicking myself as i never tried this earlier (almost 2 months into ownership)
im pretty sure this is the first of many
And to all those who haven't tried this yet (although few, if any) i highly recommend trying this out

Re: Just went upto 6000 rpm for the first time ever!
Sometimes though, I just wish mine revved that little bit more! As nice as 7000 is, I occasionally find when flooring it that I hit the rev limiter, when about to change gear! Just sounds so nice up there I wanna stay a bit longer!

Autodelta remap raises the rev limit to 7.5K

If you were driving it competently you'd change gear before you hit the rev limiter.....

Re: Just went upto 6000 rpm for the first time ever!
It's well past the power by the time you hit the limiter, so best to change up - I find around 6.5k the typical spot, depending on which gear I'm in.

Re: Just went upto 6000 rpm for the first time ever!
Won it just change up? Forgive my ignorance but I have no idea how a selespeed works end user wise. Is it an automatic that you can shift with paddles, or is it always in paddle shift mode?

It will change up when you hit the limiter, mine does anyway, and its a manual gearbox with hydraulic clutch and gearchange via the paddles.
City mode (automatic) is an option you can select

well, if i use paddles (or the gear stick), the car switches from "city (auto)" to " manual" . but in all honestly im not sure about the shifting at that rpm as ive only reached 6000 once (in auto)

Paddles? Pah. Real men grab their knob to slip the ring along the shaft, put their foot down to give her a squirt and then point it at the bend
