First Alfa 8c Competizione Arrives In Uk

Press release:

The first example of just 41 Alfa 8C Competizione supercars destined for the UK, arrived here last week.

The ultra-rare £138,500 hand-built Italian sportscar was collected by award-winning Manchester-based architect, Ian Simpson, from Alfa’s largest and longest established dealership, Mangoletsi, in Knutsford, Cheshire.

Visually arresting from every angle, the Alfa 8C Competizione looks every inch a supercar, with performance credentials to match. Under the bonnet a responsive 4.7litre V8 engine produces an awesome 450bhp. Channelled through a sophisticated 6-speed F1-style paddle shift gearbox to the rear wheels, the Alfa 8C Competizione produces enough power to launch its occupants from 0-62mph in just 4.2 seconds, and on to a top speed of 181mph.

Ian Simpson, who registered his interest in the Italian thoroughbred when the vehicle was first unveiled as a concept at the Geneva Motor Show in 2003, commented: “This car is truly worth the wait. It’s everything a supercar should be. It’s unmistakably beautiful, it has a distinct engine note and the high performance credentials place it firmly alongside the most exotic cars on the planet. I am delighted and proud to be the first customer in the country to experience this incredible car.”
I'm going to find Ian, and steal his car. Who's with me?

I reckon if i sell my home and move north into the highlands, buy a little cottage and generally tighten up on monthly spend, I could comfortably buy an 8c Spider, the bonus being i would be situated around some of the best driving roads in the Uk.... oh so tempting is this thought.

See, I'd not even be thinking about it. If it was remotely viable I'd be speaking to my estate agents right now.

The highlands are lovely just picture it; open log fire, the Scottish mountains covered in heather out the window, not a sound to be heard... until you step into your 4.7l V8 and rev the balls off it!

Actually, I've done a sneaky search. There are 5 Ian Simpsons in Manchester on the 2002-2007 electoral roll, and only 2 are on the 2008 electoral roll. I can't get any more detail than that without buying credts though

Re: First Alfa 8c Competizione Arrives In Uk

You joke, but maybe a cheeky letter to the guy from the boss wouldn't be amiss. Just to get him to come on and say hello and maybe post a few pictures. Could send him a free membership pack too.

Worst case scenario; he ignores it. Best case scenario; he comes on and becomes one of the greatest members the club has ever seen. Realistic scenario; he might pop on to say hello.

Re: First Alfa 8c Competizione Arrives In Uk

I wasn't joking.

We can get Ian to make a formal letter on behalf of the forum.

Do it! Do it!

If only I was closer to Manchester, I'd be sneakily driving round there now, you just know he's showing the thing off at work today

Here's a thing. If we could get 52 people to stump up £2663.46, we could buy one and have it a week each every year??

Oh forgot there are all sold.
