Alfa 147 computer chair!
It's been a term plan of mine to source a couple of 147 front seats to transform into computer chairs. I wanted the days of sitting on crap Staples chairs to be a thing of the past! (even the £150 jobbies fall apart after a year and creak and feel uncomfortable).
Having been immensly impressed with my 147 seats on long long jouneys, I was able to source a pair from our very own AO member, MPH. As the photos show, I have been able to sucessfully mount (the passenger one for now) to the exisiting bottom half of the chair with mimimal modifications.
The trickey one comes when trying to do the drivers seat, but thats for work anyway....so MPH...if your reading this, thanks again - I am well chuffed .

Re: Alfa 147 computer chair!
Nice job. Can I have it back now, I have changed my mind on the sale
The best bit is when your computer crashes the airbag in the side of the seat will save you!
PS. Should be able to post you the strap thing off the rears over the next few days. Will let you know when they are on their way.

You thought that was shiny? It had a fair amount of salt on it on Saturday and is even worse now...you should see her when she is REALLY clean and on display at night in the petrol station . Still thanks anyway.
Yours looked mighty fine though...I really like Gabbiano blue and those supersports. I hope you had fun on your meet!

Good luck cleaning the farty smell out of the drivers seat. Hazardous so use thick gloves

Re: Alfa 147 computer chair!
A sofa from the back seats would be ace. The rear backrest is much heavier than the seat pans though so would require a lot of frame weight.
Kingswood arms was a great laugh and met some friendly guys with very nice cars.
See link for some of our pics...

Nah, it smelt OK to me . It was the white stains on both seats I was concerned about!!!
Still, they both came up really nicely .

Re: Alfa 147 computer chair!
The white stains are called '25000 neglectfull miles with various food stains'. One of my best works yet and worthy of any modern gallery.....

Re: Alfa 147 computer chair!
They look excellent. I was only saying the other day (the the Brera lounge IIRC) that I wish my Ti seats could be made into an office chair. My office seat cost £1000+ & was part funded by access to work but is nowhere near as comfortable as the seats in the 159.

Re: Alfa 147 computer chair!
That's a fantastic job! Makes me wonder about upgrading my Brera to 08 seats and using the 07's as computer seats when we move to our new house...

Re: Alfa 147 computer chair!
Yeah but for the 147 drivers seat alone is around £500! Unless you can get some from a scrappy or ebay, it's just not cost effective .

Re: Alfa 147 computer chair!
...as promised, here are the pics of the 2nd seat (drivers side) which I converted for my office last weekend!
I have so many positive comments from the staff at work too! They really are such unbelievably comfortanble seats and I really like the cloth ones!
