Overall I enjoyed the Gtv V6 the best.The Montreal always made me nervous when out in it (Very complicated for its time)Still I am glad that I owned all of them, although its got to have pushed retirement away at least 5 years!!!

loved all of them with not 1 serious problem.

1976 Alfasud 1.2 ti – Bought new in Cyprus, fantastic, should have brought it home.

1975 Alfasud 1.2 ti – Something odd with this one, never seemed right and certainly the worst ‘sud I ever owned.

1978 Alfasud 1.5 ti – Lovely little pocket rocket with lots of style, best ‘sud I ever owned but the rot got it in the end.

1981 Alfa Romeo 105 series 1.6 Guilleta – Crap brown colour ( pun intended ) dodgy electrics and a boring drive after the ‘sud.

1982 Alfasud 1.3 tix – Nice car, fun to drive, got faster every day as the auto weight reduction kicked in but had a lot of fun miles in this.

1984 Alfetta Gold Cloverleaf 2.0 – Unusual set up, rear brakes a nightmare, but a lovely quick big saloon, eventually killed off by an incompetent mechanic. ( No, not me ! )

My current motor is a 1997 GTV Twin Spark. Do I like it ? No, I LOVE it, Fantastic looks, quick with superb handling but not recommended if you suffer from haemorrhoids, the suspension is on the firm side of sporty.

A 198? AlfaSud and the 147

I've owned two Alfas, both 156s. Only one of them has been able to move under its own power though. I'm sure some of you will remember the other one!

I've had a 146 1.6 "Junior", a blue 156 2ltr lusso, a black 156 2ltr SW and currently driving a red GTV with aero kit. The GTV is the one I like best - but the others were all great too. Keeping the GTV and adding a GT soon.

Im 24 (nearly 25) and have owned quite a few alfa I think, considering I didnt have my first till I was 22!

The P4 only needed a new UJ on the propshaft.
GTV didn't need a single non-service part..
155 has been to Jupiter and back and very few parts are original.. but apart from it's now on its third head gasket, nothing that broke seemed very unreasonable to me.

What does ICBM mean? I know it means inter-continental ballastic missile, but in the case of your 155 what does it mean? This has always puzzled me, I should have asked ages ago

Alfa ownership will come to a temporary end as I have an Audi company car and the wife is getting a Fiat 500 soon.

My son and daughter both have Fiats so at least we will still have a majority of Italian cars!

I've had my 145 8 years, so I have spent a few quid on it over the years. The worst was a gearbox rebuild, but worth every penny - I'll never sell it
