AO menber discount at Red Dot Racing.
My menbership of AO has paid for itself already!
Just spent an hour this afternoon at Red Dot Racing near Watford.
Bumped my 1.6 ts engine from 117bhp and 82lb/f of torque to 131 bhp and 96 lb/f of torque
£199 for the map and rolling road testing (10% AO member discount).
Job done.
Was told they would give me 40%!!!!! of list price of brake pads and discs too!!!!!
Even gave me a cuppa while I watched.
Car now feels much more responsive and a lot punchier.

Yes I have a before and after print out and no I cant post them as the scanner is in the attic!!!!
Oh and yes the wheels are rather nice- except for the kerbside front which met a scottish granite kerb under guidence of Mrs MPH. About 30% of the rim edge scuffed to hell!!!

IT'll be delivered differently too hopefully, below 3.5K the 1.6 is pretty gutless and only really starts pulling at about 5K

Re: AO menber discount at Red Dot Racing.
Can you post the rpms for the figures you quoted, if you get me..
So:
117bhp @ xxxx rpm -> 131bhp @ xxxx rpm
and 82lbft of torque @ xxxx rpm, now 96 lbft of torque @ xxxx rpm
Also, on the 'after' torque curve, at what RPM does torque reach 82lbft and at what RPM does it drop below 82lbft?
Sounds like one hell of a gain you got, 14bhp on a 1.6 T.S. is bloody amazing, was it optimized for higher octane fuel?

Looking at the graphs I should be changing gear about 6100rpm max as it drops of from there.
Will try find my scanner so I can post the lines!!!

It was a little under to begin with, it'd only have been 11 if he was running 120bhp and IIRC Angel reckon about 12/13bhp from a remap on the 1.6.

I don't understand your point..
I know it was 117BHP to start with, thats expected.
It was 131BHP after so 14BHP?

Re: AO menber discount at Red Dot Racing.
Tis about right with red dot, dont want to shift the curve so much as to make the car impossible round town. They also mentioned that standard ecu governs over a limited rev range and given an aftermarket ecu it can go stupid high +8000rpm

Re: AO menber discount at Red Dot Racing.
Mrs mph may be buying a grande punto sporting (1.9 diesel multijet at 130bph). Red dot reckon that 180bhp is easily obtanable and could do much, much more if it woudnt ruin the clutch/gearbox!!!!!
Cant have that though as she would be faster than me

Re: AO menber discount at Red Dot Racing.
Wow, that is probably the best N/A remap I have ever seen, you have more torque now across the whole range than what your peak torque was before you arrived.
Red Dot have certainly gone up in my estimation after seeing this.

Re: AO menber discount at Red Dot Racing.
Mr man in overalls said that he tweeked the fuel a tad as the alfas are already over fuelled and advanced the timing by quite a bit.
Car remains as drivable as before in traffic but flies when opened up. Ps I only use bp ultimate or shell optimax.
