unless revs are very low, i just start to get a little crunch into 2nd, which is a shame because its otherwise a really nice box.

anyway, i may have located a spares gearbox, but it has come off a 33 1.7 8v

what are the chances of parts interchanging?

or should i split my otherwise good box and repair with new parts?

plus, i fear the engine/gearbox mounts might be equally tired, i know boxers tend to rock, but this is rather dramatic and snatchy to drive on / off the gas pedal, could this be linked to poor gear selection?

They're made by Alessio and are 15x7" I think. They were offered by Sam Van Lingen (SAVALI) tuning in the 1990s when they did their own stuff.
