The bottom pin on one of my rear caliper brackets is just completely stuck, it turns, but is impossible to remove.

Does anyone know if you can get re-conditioned caliper bracket? Or are you best buying new, they are around £40 on ePer, which probably means around £80 from Alfa.

I have also read that removing the bracket is hard due to the way the screws are located, so its a garage job I think :(

I am under the impression that FiatECUScan (FES) can clear the light on my 156 as it is a 2000 model.

However i cant get FES to connect via my VAG/KKL OBD2 lead any ecu. I haven't connected pins 3 & 7 because i thought on the standard Pinout I should at least be able to connect to the Engine ECU.

However I have had no luck! each time it says "check your cable or Serial Port settings"

I am using version 3.4.2, and when I test the COM port, this comes up:

System supports high resolution timer.

Testing timer with 1000 ms...
..result: 1000 ms

Testing timer with 250 ms...
..result: 252 ms

Testing timer with 750 ms...
..result: 766 ms

Testing timer with 100 ms...
..result: 110 ms


I am really banging my head against a brick wall here, can anyone spend a few minutes of their time to help?
