TS CF3 wont start - OBD code U1600

Need some help guys - i seem to have killed the big lass

I pulled the inlet manifold off today to reseal it to see if that would help the smoky mornings i've been having lately and when i popped it all back together the bugger refused to start. I scanned for codes and got U1600 which after a quick search seems to be immobiliser related....i cleared the code and tried again but still no joy

Anyway, you guys got any clues? I'm pretty sure i plugged everything back in where it came from but it's not liking something i've done

The car is a CF3 twinnie BTW...

Did you unplug the ecu plugs when you were working on the inlet manifold?
If you did, check that you havent bend any of the pins, when you put them back.

Also make sure the crank sensor plug is connected back up correctly.

Yup - ecu was unplugged...did take the plugs back off in case there were any dodgy pins but seemed okay. Which is the crank sensor connector?

Crank sensor is the brown one on the inlet manifold.

she lives!! Disconnected the battery for a wee while, rechecked all connections, cleared the code and all seems fine....well once i'd reconnected the vacuum home to the throttle body

Just need to see if the morning smoking improves now....

i know you have the issue resolved:

FYI: u1600 is the immobiliser

when you disconnected the ecu, did you disconnect the battery 1st?

if not,tut, tut

if you did, ignore the tut, tut remark .... could be a sign that the immobilsier antenna has a dodgey connection

Unknown faults

We are the proud owners of 08 Alfa Romeo GT 2.0 JTS, just purchased last week. Engine light has just come on, just had it put on the diagnostic machine, and has come up with unknown faults, the 3 x codes are:- U1600, P1172, P1175. The car drives ok and are causing no problems as we know. Could anyone please advise. Thank You Karen

If your car starts ok,ignore the U1600 one, quite often it appears if you turn the key in the ignition too quick before the immo light goes out.
