2.0 JTS vs 2.0 TS

What do you think? Which one is more faster? Which one is more potential to upgrade?

TS all the way.

The JTS is less reliable, often less powerful and doesn't sound as good.

Some reckon that the JTS has more torque, I couldn't tell much difference.

Hmm, the JTS does carry some baggage but I think its a fine motor. I had C&B fast road cams fitted, I removed the Manivertor and had a remap, I was very pleased with the result. Engine torque was excellent and it was quite economical. Having said that, it never sounded quite as nice as a TS.

Did you dyno your car after installed and remapped? How much is the C&B cams?

The C&B cams are very expensive, I have £850 in my head. I did have it on the rollers and I cannot find the paperwork, I wanted to get 200 but I remember falling well short, 187 odd number but rings a bell. What I can tell you is that it drove very well, and it was livelier at higher revs, as a cruiser it settled at 90ish feeling very easy with itself. I loved that car.

Spider 2005 jts

I had a GTV 2.0 TS and now i have a spider JTS so i can compare.
Reliability, no doubt TS
Sound and accelaration JTS butt TS is smoother on accelaration.
If it has to be redone i would never buy a JTS again
Motor tuning, no experience

Very good comparison because you have both. I believe to get an extra horsepower on stock engine still JTS (+15hp). Furthermore the engine were built by GM not Alfa and a bit hard to get parts and bit expensive.

COMPLETELY different engine.

The 2.0JTS is a modified 2.0TS. A Fiat/Alfa engine.

The 1.9JTS/2.2JTS in the 159/Brera are based on a GM engine.

Not really, because the block was Fiat.

I would go with the 3.2 version of the Busso v6 being the last all Alfa developed engine.
