Panic Time ?????

Hi all

Car in question : 156 SW 1.9 JTD 2003 (8 Valve)

Just had a low oil pressure warning come up within a few minutes of starting the engine.... According to the computer display the oil level is full ... Ok yes I know I should check the dipper and I will when I get back from collecting my other half from work (had to borrow a car to collect her) *** Update - Oil level checked and its ok ***

I've also noticed the car isn't picking up as well as normal recently and I've been getting black smoke out the back which I think is the EGR needing cleaning out (a job for today if the weather holds and I can get the car home)

Anyhow can anyone suggest what the reason for the low oil pressure could be? I've read that if it's warm it could be the crank sensor but the engine was definitely cold when it happened today

Any Ideas ???

On your car you can blank off the egr valve with no warning lights, I did it with the same engine in my 156 and it made a big difference to the part throttle response with a slight improvement in fuel consumption..
The best £3 you'll ever spend on your car
